Dr. Brian Jon Oricoli, MD

Very poor doctor. I went to him for pain relief and instead tells me that basically there's nothing wrong when my doctor said that my MRI showed I have a severe neural foraminal stenosis from two discs and a moderate from two other and I've had it for 13 months and I'm in so much pain is taking over my life. Do not go to this doctor.

I was referred to Dr. Oricoli for treatment for periodic muscle spasms in my back. My first appointment went well. At the time of my first appointment I was not having symptoms. The Dr. told me that when the spasms started, I should call for an appointment. He would try to see me that day, if he could not, I would be seen the next day. When an episode started, I called. I was told I could not be seen that day. I chose to go to an urgent care where the treatment I received was not effective. I was told to go to Dr. Oricoli where he could do a trigger point injection. I call Dr. Oricoli's office the next day and again couldn't get an appointment. I was treated by my family doctor and finally had some relief. I again called Dr. Oricoli's office and was told there was a note in my file that I was not to be scheduled for anymore appointments. He and his staff seem not to have caring or empathy for anyone experiencing excruciating pain. In a way I'm glad this happened because I… will now look for another doctor who hopefully be more caring.

You never wait long to see the doctor, in fact you usually sign in and are taken directly back. He listens but doesn't want to treat your pain. He thinks antidepressants are cure-alls. So if you want a nice guy to hand you a RX for some Cymbalta, by all means go here. If you are having any real pain and want relief don't. I think his narcotic licenses have either been pulled or is near losing them.

I came in with shooting pain down my arm and stiffness and pain in the left neck and shoulder. Dr. Oricolli was condescending and malevolent, verbally attacking and belittling me. He sent me home with a prescription for massage therapy, telling me that my symptoms "made no sense". Oh really? My general physician (puzzled over the behavior of Oricolli) then sent me for an MRI and found a herniated cervical disk. The neurosurgeon I subsequently saw told me all of my symptoms were consistent with a herniated disk. If Dr. Oricoli is a spinal specialist as claims, he should have immediately suspected such a problem. I was told that an untreated herniated cervical disk could possibly cause me to lose the use of that arm. Don't go to this man. He either sucks as a doctor or allows his personal problems to cloud his judgment. He made me cry, made me think I was crazy and that I would have to just learn to live with it. I went to him for help when I was vulnerable and in pain. I suffered… needlessly for another month because of him and could have lost the use of my arm if I had not persisted in seeking help. I'm not win physical therapy including cervical traction.
