Dr. Bruce James Edson, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Edson for almost 12 years. He has treated me for serious depression as well as severe anxiety. Dr Edson always makes you feel comfortable from the moment he greets you at the door with a smile. He is low-key and very professional and really seems to care. He always asks how I’m doing and seems to actually listen to my response. We work together to make sure that my medication is working on if not we will work on tweaking the meds and/ or dosages. If I leave a message on his voicemail I almost always get a prompt response. I would highly recommend Dr. Edson to anyone looking for a psychiatrist for med management. My only issue that I have is with his office staff. Dr Edson’s staff is very cold and unapproachable.They make you feel like you are bothering them. The same woman has been there since I can remember and I do not look forward to knocking on the window to take care of billing, insurance etc. Dr Edson has added a new member to his staff who is cheerful… and helpful. This is really made a difference.

I have been seeing Dr. Adkins for my chronic depression for at least 10 years and since I have difficulty with sweat many medications we have had a challenge together. He is always responsive to how I experience the medication, returnsphone calls the same day and is generally a nice man and a good doctor

Dr Edson is just right for me and my bipolar disorder. Once he prescribed the medication it worked and I've been stable since.

Inconsiderate and rude staff. I dread coming here. Can't wait to change doctors. I've already made an appointment elsewhere, but I have to attend one more appointment with Edson to have my medication refilled. The staff is by far the worst. They don't care. They are not friendly. Never have I ever had a pleasant experience dealing with his receptionist or assistant. Rude and very inpolite. You would think dealing with patients coming to this type of practice, the receptionist would be mildly friendly. Instead you get rude, irritated, and and not helpful. Last time I was there for my appointment, I went to check in. After she took my payment, I said thank you, and she closed the window in my face. I'm sure others have had wonderful experiences with Dr. Edson, he is a very nice man, but for me, I just need a doctor, and an office that is a little more personable. I feel like I was recommended to him just because he's been around for so long. I actually have real important issues… that I am actively trying to work out, and I'm not here just to get my meds and leave. I feel like he didn't care, and just is here to write me scripts. But honestly, I would say 90% of why I am changing practices is because of the staff. Coming to this office negatively affects my depression. I hate this office, and the environment. Seriously cannot stand the staff.

This fine professional I would recommend to anyone anywhere. he ios very concerned and will work with you and listen then react to your benefit accurately.he is one of my favorite physicians ever.

I would recommend Dr. Edson to my family and friends. He is good in returning emergency calls to me when I am having any type of issues. I do feel that he is very educated in his field of expertice. I drive about 1 1/2 hrs round trip to see him for appts and have many other doctors in his field close to my home but I am very comfortable with him and feel it is worth the extra time to get to his office. I want to thank you Dr. Edson for how you have helped me with my issues in the past and continuing the same in the future.

I called to make an appt. for my son and the staff was so rude, I was so upset by the end of the conversion I told them to just cancel the appt.
