Dr. Bruce Martin Vrooman, MD

Dr. Vrooman performed my epidural steroid injection. He was extremely kind, compassionate, and thorough. He came in and explained every aspect of the procedure, including the rare complications that could (but did not) arise, with the plans to mitigate them if needed. He answered all of my questions and was very mindful of my anxiety surrounding the procedure. His whole team was absolutely fabulous and I’m so thrilled to share that my first experience with this procedure was very positive. I would definitely recommend this doctor and the whole team at APD Pain Management!

Dr. Vrooman caused a serious nerve injury while performing an injection procedure on me, announced "I think we're done here" when I yelped, and then ran out of the room. He refused to see me in followup, refused to speak to me when I went to the ER, and has never spoken to me since then. The other physician from the Spine Center that I saw in the ER offered no help. I ended up in inpatient rehab because I couldn't walk and spent months at physical therapy thereafter. Learning to walk again with a gait abnormality damaged the cartilage in my knee and I required surgery for that, as well as spine surgery for the problems the spine surgeons there failed to diagnose in the first place. Years of my life ruined by those people.

Meeting DR. Vrooman on 8-27-2018, At 7:30am. Was difficult, I have tolled him about my pain, I also rolled him all my problems and pointed out everywhere I hurt, DR Vrooman then feel around, and said I can’t feel anything, I the tolled him well a GI Specialist said it was hard and I had a muscular skeletal injury in this same building, he DR Vrooman tolled me he didn’t know what he was feeling around for. I waited three month to see this man, DR Vrooman gave me nothing at all for my severe pain! I’ve been in this pain for a year and three months.

This is a compassionate and kind doctor and I couldn't have been more pleased. Takes time to explain the procedure and is clearly very knowledgeable . Two thumbs up for dr. Vrooman and definitely 5 stars!

I sustained near fatal injuries in a car accident. Other doctors wanted to just write narcotics prescriptions. He helped develop a plan to manage my pain without narcotics. I am forever grateful to him. Dr. Vrooman is brilliant, open minded and kind.

I walked in felling hold less and defeated by my pain, but he set a plane in action and I'm finally starting to see that there is a small light at the end of this horrific journey I've been on.

Awful experience! Over an hour late to the appointment. Barely looked at me. Had an associate do the exam. Explained nothing, gave monosyllabic answers when he deigned to dnswer at all. Abrupt and arrogant. Worst de experience ever and that's saying a lot!

Don't have enough space for all comments, but here goes: we went to Dr. Vrooman at Cleveland Clinic in the hopes of getting help for my daughter's abdominal pain (11 years with IBS). Nothing we tried has helped and we deliberately chose Dr. Vrooman because the online description of the clinic indicated he does a nerve block for abdominal pain. Waited almost 2 months for an appt. Waited over an hour past our appt time before seeing Dr. Vrooman. I was asked to leave the room for the exam, but was promised by the nurse that I would be called back for the discussion on treatement. That never happened. Next thing I know, my daughter is stumbling into the waiting room sobbing. She said Dr. Vrooman spent most of his very brief time in exam room (5-7 minutes tops) typing. His "associate" did the actual exam. How can he diagnose and prescribe if he doens't even do the actual exam? Said no to her request to consider the nerve block with no reason other than "you're too young" and "that's for… trying later" (later? We've tried other options for 11 years!) Ignored my daughter's questions. Manner was abrupt and rude. Tried to bully her into the clinic's 3 week chronic pain treatment, printed out info on another drug to try (we weren't looking for more drugs!) and ran out of the room. Receptionist promised a follow up call on the chronic pain program which we never received. The entire trip was a waste of time and money. We've never had such a negative experience with a dr before! I strongly recommend you avoid the Cleveland Clinic Pain Management Center unless you want frustration, disappointment and a big bill. You won't get help with your pain or your condition. And you won't be treated well.
