Dr. Sam Byungho Koo, MD

Having scar tissue in my palm De Koo operated to remove. He bunched the skin together when stitching so that now I have much worse scar tissue that is very painful. When asked he said “ your the one who wanted the surgery”... very disappointed

Dr. Sam Koo did surgery on my elbow and now I have no more nurve problems with it. He’s the best. I highly recommend him to everyone.

I have seen Dr. Koo several times for an injury, and each time I felt that he was not interested in figuring out what was wrong with me. He examined me quickly without any explanation and then referred me to hand therapy; giving them no specific diagnosis. He told them to treat me for "hand pain"; so after 3 months of physical therapy, I had a follow up with him to see if I could return to physical activity. I was seen by his PA who was actually more attentive than Dr. Koo had been in the past. The PA told me that I could go ahead and return to normal activity after my symptoms subsided...Dr. Koo never came into this appointment. So I returned to normal activities; while being extremely cautious. The following day was the worst pain I had ever been in. After this I saw my Physical Therapy team at beacon and they were not sure what to do, because I was showing progress before I was told it was okay to return to physical activity. (Side note my physical therapy team has been awesome and… attentive this entire time) After this I decided to make an appointment with another doctor at Beacon and this doctor actually took the time to do a thorough examination; in which he found that I would probably need surgery. So, I went through months of pain and not being able to live a full life; because I was mis-diagnosed with "hand pain". Thankfully another doctor took the time to actually be thorough and found a bad UCL injury. I would suggest not going to Dr. Koo.

He cut further down my wrist while another doc was going to cut into the palm of my hand. Thank God I found Dr. Koo!

if you have wrist pain from carpal tunnel, this is the man to see. since he only works with hands/wrists, he put the incision below the mobile part of my wrist. The general orthopedist I saw was going to put it on the palm of my hand and upper wrist because he didn't know any better. I am so glad I went to Dr. Koo instead!

Worst Dam place would never suggest to anyone the way they treated my 3 year old wast of time and gas

Dr. Sam Koo is a phenomenal hand surgeon! I spent years unable to bend my forefinger and middle finger all the way on my left side figuring it was just some stupid genetic thing. Finally I saw Dr. Koo and he was able to give me full range of motion back in both fingers! I am so thankful!
