Dr Catherine Hylwa, MD

Should not be practicing! Would not even forward our records to our new doctor! Almost lost my life twice under her care when she would not listen or take action to my symptoms!

Dr. Hylwa is certainly the gold standard for all PCP's. She is caring, careful and correct. Dr. Hylwa is always at the top of her game, engaging with her patients and listening to gain the facts with which she is able to correctly diagnose and advise.

I found her to be very caring and took time to ask pertinent questions to properly care for my husband.

Worst doctor I have ever seen. Don’t waste your time. Find a real doctor. She spends so much time talking about herself and when you need help she has no time to see you. She makes her patients feel worse after leaving.

I had liked Dr Hylwa very much until I had an appointment and she received a phone call from her boiler guy, she had no heat at her house and her parents were coming for a visit. So I waited while she was on the phone , then I heard the whole story about what had happened. Which would have been fine except during the visit I asked about what type of medicine to use for hot flashes for my menopause and I got charged an extra $35.00!!!!! So I paid my copay at the time of the visit then received another bill for $35. on top of it. When I called asking why I was being charged I was told it was because I asked a question about menopause and I was there for a physical! WHAT??!!!! How ridiculous is that reasoning??? Isnt that the time to ask about any problems or concerns I had? Really ticked me off especially since I was there an extra half hour while she took her phone call to the boiler guy and then told me all about the situation! Totally turned me off! Will never recommend!

I do not recommend Dr. Hylwa. I've been seeing her for over a year now. I was just diagnosed with Lyme Disease (3rd time). Started to have a lot of trouble with the medication - Got really sick. I called to try and see her, and she basically said nothing was probably wrong and I should be fine to go to school (college). She was very rude and condescending. My mom had to call her office back and tell her it was not appropriate level of care. So instead of seeing my Dr, I went to the ER. Overall terrible experience.

Catherine Hylwa is one of the worst doctors you can ever have , with her husband, James Bucci, coming in second.... Rude, cruel ,and very uncaring. No follow ups, no return phone calls no getting back to you with test results. Gave it so many tries of trying to find the good in these doctors...if you value your health and life, do not go to these doctors. The staff is rude , and very un-professional. If these doctors cannot feed you medicine, they cast you aside and neglect you. We are definitely looking for another doctor.

Dr Hylwa is prompt and accurate in her diagnosis, every time. She keeps tract of every shot or booster that is needed and every screening that is important. She is also a very practical doctor, weighing the need for a test before prescribing. She's simply the best doctor I have ever, in 65 years, had.

Only thinks about themselves. Quantity over quality. Poor bedside manner. I wish I had read these reviews before I switched doctors because they are valid. Dr's should care about patients as individuals, I never felt like an individual at that practice.
