Dr Chris Ibikunle

I was referred to Dr. C from another office for a bariatric consult. I was surprised at being able to get a consult so fast. Arrived at office and was greeted. Once called back I met with the coordinator who was also nice. Then a nurse practitioner. All went well. Here comes the red flag moment-I was given some paperwork. My surgery was scheduled, (I have most of my surgery clearances done already) and I was told my appointment was done. I asked if I was going to speak to and meet the surgeon and was told he doesn't usually meet patients. HUH? So, I said that I had specific questions about the surgery that I wanted to discuss with him. Because when you are getting surgery you would like to feel comfortable with who is cutting you open. I was told maybe they could set up a phone consult. (well I had planned my time accordingly and set up this appointment to do this now not over the phone)AGAIN-RED FLAG I have NEVER EVER heard of a surgeon who doesn't meet their patient and sit and… explain the surgery and answer questions. Also, I never filled out a medical questionnaire (you know, the ones that ask you 5000 questions about your medical history) I just wasn't comfortable AT ALL with any of this. There were some other warning signs for me. Look, he may very well be qualified but I wasn't comfortable at all with a medical practice that operates this way. I have a family of physicians and everyone of them were mortified. I even went back to the practice that referred me and told them about what happened and they were also in awe. I am going to pass on this practice and use an Emory doctor.

Dr. Ibukunle is a wonderful surgeon!!! I had no problems post surgery. He provides you with his email address and wants you to contact him directly with any questions, concerns, or issues post surgery. He had some office staff issues, but those are resolved.

I have had issues with acid reflux . I went to Dr Inikunle and had a wonder experience with everything. Very nice to have a Dr that makes you feel like family.
