Dr. Christopher Michael Mahr, MD

This was my first appointment and will be my last. I was scheduled for 9:30 and showed up at 9 knowing I would have to fill out new client paperwork. The front desk staff were very nice and friendly. I even got in to the back on time if not a few minutes early. When I got into the room and Dr. Mahr can in, he grabbed my had and liked to broke it when introducing himself. Then when I told him why I was here (yearly blood work ) he said that he was only going to do what was on the paperwork that I brought in because my insurance would charge me. For one my insurance does cover a yearly physical blood work second the cost is none of his business when I have paid my copayment. Dr. Mahr was very short, rude, and does not care about his customers just the in and out services. I had other things that I wanted to discuss but he made me feel as though I was wasting his time. He does not listen to you or care what is going on. They would not even call in my prescription. They told me they don’t… do that. This place is a mess. Don’t support Dr Mahr find someone that cares about you and what you are dealing with.

Dr. Mahr is the physician for my elderly grandmother. While we rarely see him "on time" for an appointment, when he arrives in the treatment room he is very kind, knowledgeable, patient and thorough when speaking with us. He takes the time to explain everything in "layman's terms" so my grandmother (who is in her 90's!) is able to understand everything about her condition(s) and their treatment. He is apparently a very busy physician but I would not hesitate to recommend him!

Every time that I go see Dr. Mahr, he is in and out of the room in a matter of 5-7 minutes. I do not get a sense of care from him and he is very abrupt and cold toward myself and others that I know. I will hear him laughing and conversing with patients in the room next to mines (Caucasians) but when he comes into my room, he is cold. Ive heard this from others that see him that are of African American descent, as am I. I would not recommend him to anyone. I feel unimportant and this is not a feeling that I'd expect from a PCP. Finding another doctor.

Dr. Mahr has been my doctor for some time now he is direct to the point and has your individual health in mind. I have found him to understand my needs my concerns and he follows through with sound testing on target treatment. There are many Doctors to choose from these days you decide for your self I recommend a visit to Doctor Mahr in Sumter South Carolina.

Dr. Mahr. Is a very caring doctor. Spends time with you during appointment. Listens to what you have to say. He is courteous. He has been accurate in his diagnosis during my illness.

Dr. Mahr is an extremely professional, competent, and caring physician, who shows genuine concern for the patients in his practice.

Has been my personal Doctor for over five years and has done a great job controlling my diabetis, blood pressure, and cholesterol. He also has been very wise in referring me to other specialists when needed. He may be associated with Toumey hospital but will give you a referral to wherever you feel you can get the best care. He is the reason I am still alive. The quality of care he provides is much more important tahn the school he attended.
