Dr. Cristina S Boccalandro, MD

My daughter has Turner's syndrome and Boccalandro is just great, supremely knowledgeable.

Dr Boccalandro has give me great help in managing my Diabetes. I have had Diabetes taking insulin for 59 years. My A1C is 6.2. I carefully followed her instructions. I couldn’t be happier. She is the best of all the Diabetic doctors I have encountered. In the last 5 years I have finished 11 marathons with her help. What more could you ask of a great Doctor.

It was very difficult to get an appointment and virtually impossible to get a live voice to answer the phone. This leaves a bad taste when someone has a health issue and feels there is no response to their request for an appointment. The staff is courteous once you are in the office and being seen by the doctor. The front desk staff however are somewhat impatient with follow-up questions, which makes one feel very unimportant, or at worst, a troublesome patient if you don't understand a diagnosis or need test results faster than a week. There was a wait time of two weeks for lab results, which I believe is quite inappropriate for simple bloodwork. This vastly needs to improve. Her nurse is wonderful, and takes time with patients, as does Dr. Boccalandro. But the appointment wait time is difficult to deal with, as is a 2 hour wait to see her once you arrive. I probably will not return for any follow up visits. It all depends on how prompt she is at getting follow up tests managed.

Dr. Boccalandro and her Office Manger have no respect for the patient's time. I have been in her office on multiple occassions and my average wait time has been anywhere from 2 to 3 hours. When I spoke to the Office Manager and to Dr. Boccalandro about this great inconveience they both suggested that I had two choices: (a)wait or (b) go elsewhere because Dr. Boccalandro will not be rushed. I can't be two or three hours late but she can because she's the doctor. It's true that Dr. Boccalandro is knowledgeable and a good physician. However, she lost me when she could not respect my time. I can understand a thirty to forty five minute wait (once in a while). However, a two or three hour wait time (every time I go in) is an abuse on the patient.

She diagnosed me right away, and changed my life in a very positive way. She cares beyond the practice, as a fellow human. Absolutely fantastic and competent doctor.

Dr. Boccanaldro diagnosed my hyperparathyroidism accurately and continued to check on me after surgery. She has a great personality and caring heart. 5 stars!
