Excellent doctor witha wealth of knowledge. Doesnt just refer you out. Trys to treat the problem.

I have chronic pain that Dr Barrett could not, or would not help me diagnose (in 2017). Early on, we tried several band-aid approaches, none shed light on my condition. He refused to send me for an MRI, and each of my visits felt like he was working by the seat of his pants - he never gave any thought to me after I left. He threw his hands up in defeat one visit, and referred me to a specialist who helped answer my questions and took time outside my visits to get to the root of my pain. She was kind, and listened, and brainstormed with me, whereas, he was dismissive and tried to use big words to impress or befuddle me. On a follow-up visit with him after my specialist, he looked at my charts (her notes) and made it seem as if he knew all along why I was in pain. I put the ball on the tee for him, and he fought me for months. He was not a partner in my care, but an obstacle.

I went to Dr. Barrett with extreme symptoms over several years that left me very ill. Over that time period he became increasingly cold and apathetic to my plight, yet offered no help. I came to believe he thought I was faking it to get meds. I eventually was diagnosed with Meniere's disease by another doctor and am doing much, much better. I think Barrett is horrible, he took away my dignity and for that I will never see him again nor would I recommend him to anyone.

Very lackadaisical attitude and spends most of his time looking at a computer. Lacks social skills.

Each time I went in, he heard what I was conveying, made me feel like what I was saying counted, and had a solution that helped.

no follow up after visit, none needed

Charged for a new/outpatient after being told that the cost for the visit would not be over $100.00. I received my statement later that month totaling $232.00 after co-pay. Dr. Barrett sat in the room with me for maximum of five minutes to inform me that he would need proof of diagnoses of ADHD before prescribing me my prescription. I understood that procedure, I don't understand why he went ahead and charged me a total bill of $362.00 for a five minute consultation that was pointless and a waste of my time. He knew I am a college student with access to the health facility at Oregon State University yet he still wanted me to pay the full amount after accomplishing nothing during my "new" patient exam. No information was taken down other than my weight height and age. I am unpleasantly dissatisfied and want to help those of you out there before its to late, do not go to this Doctor unless you want to be undermined and taken advantage of. I am 26 and was treated like a child and jumped… through every hoop to try and get my payment reduced. Now all there is to do is spread the word.

I like Dr. Barrett.I've only needed to see him a few times (lucky me) but I've always been impressed with his demeanor and professionalism. His head nurse (not sure of specific title) is great as well.Would certainly recommend.

Finally I found a doctor to stick with. I'm completely comfortable with Dan - I actually enjoy our visits. His compassion, diagnosis, and overall knowledge is impressive.
