Dr. Dany H Zayour, MD

I was pretty anxious about managing my thyroid condition, but Dr. Zayour made it all seem like a breeze. He’s laid-back, really listens, and breaks down the medical jargon into language I can understand. It’s refreshing to have a doctor who truly cares and doesn’t rush you out the door.

I can't praise Dr. Z. enough! When I first got diagnosed with Addison’s, I was freaking out. But Dr. Z. was so calm and supportive, it really helped me cope. He is incredibly patient and always takes the time to answer my million questions. He is a lifesaver

I have seen Dr zayour for my diabetes for years. He cares about his patients and takes time to answer all of your questions. Great personality!

I had a severe concussion and was taken to the hospital in icu for 5 days . dr zayour was called in and found my adrenal were not working due to the fall. I have been seeing him m ever since hes great with patient and listens to you. He has a great personality. I highly recommend him.

I did wait over 20 minutes to be taken to a patient room and another 10-20 to see the doctor. The doctor was awesome! He got to know me before diving into medical terms. He spent at least 30 minutes with me and explained everything in great detail. At the end of our appointment he asked if I had any questions and also asked my husband, who was with me at the appointment. Before I arrived home, my medicine was ready to fill at the pharmacy. I highly recommend this doctor!

I have been a patient of Dr Zayour for 3-4 years. We started out well as doctor/patient. This man is about 45 years old and has been educated well. He can be trusted. He has great bedside manner. He also covers all aspects of diabetes and thyroid. He has never discussed metabolism with me, which would have been helpful. So why am I looking for another endocrinologist? For me as a regular patient, it is tough to get an appointment with Dr Zayour if you need to change appts or he tells you see me in 6 months. His schedule is so full that followup is difficult. At least for me that has been true. I am not one to ask for changes to already scheduled appts especially with Dr Zayour. Getting results of labwork is tough. He has told me if I have not heard back about labwork in 10 days I should call. I have done that and was told he had not reviewed the results. What I did was call to talk to Ginger his RN and request lab orders a 7-10 days before my appt. That works but it is not… totally true, i.e. A1c. Because by the time of appt, the results are almost 2 weeks old. If you are wanting a doc who has time for you and easy to get in to see, this is not the doctor for you. He does have a great bedside manner until you express concern about scheduling. Then different story. I have referred many people to Dr Zayour during the time I have seen him. I still feel he is a good endocrinologist. He won't treat you if you are on Armour thyroid. If you are taking Levothryroid or Synthroid he will treat you. When I asked why at my first appt he didn't have a reason. Just said he would not treat me if I continued on Armour. Very disappointed then. I just need a doctor who is more accessible to me on scheduling and being told by scheduling staff "Well, he is a good doctor people like." I know that but that doesn't solve the problem. I did contact Via Christi Clinic Coordinator to express my concerns. She said she understood and they were looking for another doctor to work with Dr Zayour. Hasn't happened and that was told to me a couple of years ago. I am continuing my search for a new endocrinologist. I will miss Dr Zayour and may go back to him. There is no one like him.

The actual Dr visit went fine - normal appt lasting about 10 minutes. Dr. Zayour was very personable for the 10 min apt, cannot say anything else after that bc after the Dr appt and lab work - follow up and patient care ceased. I never got a call (like I was told I would) to go over Diagnosis and Lab results. And when I called to get them - the people were rude and informed me I would be getting a LETTER in the mail to tell me my diagnosis and lab results and next steps! When I asked to talk to a Dr or nurse, I was told no, that I needed to wait for the letter after I had waited over a week for results! That was bad enough but then I got the invoice for my appt and was shocked to be charged that much for a 10 min appt. I was fine with what I was charged for bloodwork, but to pay a premium price for exam - I expected premium patient care but got substandard patient care. I tried to discuss with billing/Dr office and all they said was it met the "criteria" for charging that much and… sorry if I didn't like it or agree. They apologized for the bad patient care but again charged me a very high price for bad service. will not go back nor recommend them to ANYONE! VERY DISAPPOINTING!

Very easy to talk with and explains the disease thoroughly and in laymens terms, explains the necessity to follow good diet regimen.
