Dr. David Eduardo Baranano, MD

I was referred to Dr Baranano by an ophthalmologist who botched my cataract operation. I had retinal detachment as a result. Dr Baranano performed the surgery to reattach my retina and then, after weeks of healing, attached the lens to my eye. Contrary to the reviews giving him a poor rating, I found him to be caring, very professional, and with a dry sense of humor. Can't say enough good things. As for his arrogance and condescending attitude, I never saw any of that. And I want the doctor who thinks he's the best performing any surgery on me. Dr Baranano proved that to me.

Very arragant. His attitude leaves alot to be desired. Honestly, the way he speaks and treats you...I am amazed at how he retains patients. This quality is as important as a doctors skills. I know you are simply the smartest doc out there..right????

My preemie was diagnosed with retinopathy of prematurity. And it wasn't address properly in the hospital and became a serious issue by an other dr. I was then sent to Dr Baranano by her opthamologist.I will say he is the most amazing dr I have ever had dealings with. He took such amazing care of my daughter. And he was such a huge part of her success with her condition. He was always there when needed, he even personally called me when she wasnt feeling well. If I had to go through all this again I would definitely choose Dr Baranano. He made sure my little one who already went through a lot got the care she needed. THANK YOU! !

Please take the comments from other patients about Dr. Baranano being inexperienced and cocky with a grain of salt! I am sure that none of them are previous Hopkins doctors with years of experience like Dr B! I went through multiple laser treatments and surgeries with Dr Baranano as my doctor and feel very confident that he KNOWS what he is doing. His bedside manner was great as well. His staff would call to check up on me after all of my surgeries.

Dr Baranano performed emergency surgery on my left retina that saved my sight. He has followed up regularly with me over the past 2 yrs to maintain health in the other eye as well. Dr Baranano has a remarkable gift of explaining procedures and my family and I trust him, highly recommend him.

I was very skeptical when Dr Baranano told me over and over and over again how experienced he is. My son looked it up and he only finished his retina fellowship training in Georgia in 2010. At my age 3 years is hardly experienced. Don't let the hairline fool you. If I want a junior partner I'll go to a teaching hospital. Before I let anyone do injections in my eyes I need to trust him/her. I don't think he's a bad guy but Dr Baranano is clearly insecure about his experience and training. Why else was he constantly giving me his resume? He talked more about himself than he seemed to want to know about me, the patient. As I said, he's just very insecure and likely in over his head at his age but only 3 years out of fellowship. I won't be going back. I want a doctor who is genuinely confident and truly experienced.

Dr.Baranano is exceptionally well trained in retina disease. He is very attuned to the needs and concerns of his patients. He uses the most up to date medicines and techniques. I could not ask for a better physician to treat macular degeneration.

Dr. Baranano has been treating me for macular degeneration with eyeball injections over the past year. Since opening his new practice, his care has become more personalized. He is extremely knowledgable and patient with me. He answers all of my questions and explains what and why he's doing the procedure to me clearly. His professional staff is excellent and very friendly. The organization of the practice has steadily improved with little wait time now. I would highly recommend Dr Baranaro.

My wife has been a patient of Dr. Baranano for several months now being treated for macular degeneration. She only has very positive and nice things to say about her experience with the good Dr. Not to mention the fact that her condition has improved significantly while under his care. We would not hesitate to recommend him to anyone.

I was amazed at how rudely he treated his own staff. He and his nurse were each snippy towards the other. It was very awkward as a patient. He seemed very distracted and did not listen to me or answer my questions. I was a new patient because his other partner was out of town. Next time I'll wait and see the partner instead.
