Dr. David Jeffrey Cahn, MD

I have been seeing Dr Cahn for probably a bit over a year now. When I first met him he seemed professional and seemed to want to help, but that all immediately fades when you aren't standing in front of him. I received surgery from David Cahn and he never reached out to me afterwards. I had a follow up scheduled, but he or the facility rescheduled me twice after which I ultimately canceled after changing my work schedule originally to make appointments. Dr. Cahn still never reached out, and it wasn't until I determined the the surgery was unsuccessful that we spoke again when I reached out months later. If you want someone who continuously works with you to resolve your issues DO NOT see Dr Cahn.

We have been trying for over a week to get a script filled. Pharmacy has been great, but their hands are tied by very poor response by office staff!!

I’ve been seeing Dr. Cahn for over twenty years. He’s an excellent Dr. who will talk the time to talk to his patients.

The most horrible person ever. I can't even call him the "D" word. If you want a person to do surgery on you and not care what the outcome is, he is your man. Had a nerve stimulator put in by him and it shocked me from the 1st day to the day it was taken out. When it was taken out it had pierced my sciatic nerve with both leads. Thanks you jerk! Now, years later I have even more problems. Be careful, if he's late to your surgery or air headed, dosen't know anything about you. I consider myself lucky now, I can still walk. You might not be so lucky.

Making the statement that Dr. Cahn has poor "bedside-manners" is an understatement. He is like an Army drill sergeant; so if you don't like a little man with a big attitude drilling you and telling you what to do, go somewhere else. He will not provide you with treatment options, possible negative side effects or enough information to make an informed decision. Nor will he make any attempt to let you actively participate in your health care decisions, So, if you care about your health you will take the time to look for another doctor.

The wait time was too the long two times I saw him and he didn't discuss labs or treatment with me. He just wrote a prescription and out the door I went.

Dr. Cahn was very thorough and spent time going over his findings and my options. He showed a sense of humor that created a relaxing environment. He showed a real concern and set-up a follow-up visit to make sure all was going well with me.

Too controlling and inflexible. If you trust doctors and want them to tell you what to do, he is your guy. But if you want to be responsible for and actively participate in your health care decisions, go somewhere else. Dr. Cahn did not provide treatment options or enough information for me to intelligently decide which options were best for me. Instead, he decided what I needed and gave me orders and prescriptions, without discussing side effects or other downsides. I called him on the weekend with a problem with his treatment device, which wasn't working properly. Instead of offering options, he told me to wait a day and call back if problems persisted. Shortly thereafter I started to bleed and had to go to the emergency room. It happened because he didn't listen to me and credit what he was being told. This suggests he doesn't trust his patients. I promptly found another doctor and would not go to him again. I later got a copy of his treatment notes,… which contained three inaccurate statements about my medical history, which were based on assumptions rather than facts.

I'm really surprised at the comments of bedside manner. I really enjoyed my visits with him. Maybe because my procedure was minor I didn't have much expectation/need of learning,etc. I had my vasectomy in his office and was amazed at how much of a non-event it was. No pain, no black and blue... nothing. Urologists tend to have an oddball sense of humor, this guy included but I thought he was great.

Once is an incident, twice is a coincidence, but having to wait 30+ minutes beyond my appointment time just to be called back is a pattern. I don't know if it's a scheduling issue or what, but I have never had an appointment with Dr Cahn on time. Every time he has been at least 30 minutes late, and this last time I was in his office for an hour and forty five minutes, and I saw Dr Cahn all of about 10 minutes of that, and spent the rest of the time waiting. I almost walked out, I was so frustrated--I know doctors tend to run late but this office takes the cake for total disregard of the patient's time. The office is also frustrating in that they want me to schedule an appointment instead of giving me results over the phone-- ha, like I have any vacation days left after previous office visits!! It took nearly 2 weeks to get a phone call back regarding test results. Is Dr Cahn good? Who knows, I hardly see him, but the chairs in the waiting room are pretty comfortable...
