Dr. David Zane Schreier, MD

Dr. Schreier is a class act. I was not thrilled to have my 2nd hernia repair in 20 years, but Dr. Schreier made it the best experience possible. Very thorough and great information. Much easier than the first time! I trust him completely.

I felt totally at ease and in good hands with Dr. Schreier when I had my gall bladder removed. He was very thorough in explaining the procedure, answering questions, and helping me with any concerns post-surgery. He is friendly, professional, and his decades of experience are really reassuring. My surgery and recovery went totally smoothly. His office staff is also very helpful and friendly. I highly recommend Dr. Schreier and his team.

I was referred to Doctor Schreier through a top Gastroenterologist. I had a severe gallbladder infection that required urgent medical attention and surgery. After researching the doctor's credentials, services and expertise in the medical industry, we knew we were making the right choice. He was known as one of the best surgeons for this type of surgery from his peers and previous patients. I was putting my life in his hands and knowledge and trust were a big factor !!! My gallbladder was successfully removed, no complications and my recovery was smooth. I'm forever grateful to Dr. Schreier and highly recommend his services in all aspects as a general surgeon.

I was seen in the Thousand Oaks office and everything about my visit was great. The staff Colleen was one of the nicest and caring people I have met. Dr Schreier spent alot of time with me and answered all the questions. He explained it so I could understand. There was no rush or pushing me into any decision. I have since scheduled my needed surgery with Dr. Schreier and the process has been flawless.

A few months ago I decided to have a preventative double mastectomy because I have the BRCA gene mutation. Dr Schreier helped me choose a great plastic surgeon and they performed the mastectomy together. Then they discovered a tumor in the breast tissue that was removed, that had not been detected through my regular mammograms. I'll never forget the moment he told me I had cancer, how he took his time and talked me through it so that I would be prepared for the next steps. I don't know how that man is able to be so present and compassionate given the volume and intensity of his work. At the beginning of this ordeal, I would have been happy just to know that I had a skilled surgeon; but when things got scary, I realize that his compassion made all the difference. He also has great office staff; Kerilyn stayed in regular contact with me to help coordinate insurance and referrals for treatment, and moved heaven and earth to try and accommodate my scheduling needs for follow-up.… Tomorrow Dr Schreier will operate on me again to see if the cancer has metastasized. Whatever the outcome, I feel so fortunate to be in the hands of a doctor who I deeply trust.

He is a caring, kind, and brilliant surgeon. A great communicator with an excellent bedside manner. He took out my gallbladder with a single incision and my recovery was short. I couldn't have been more pleased with Dr. Schreier and his whole office staff for making my procedure more comfortable and pleasant.

I highly recommend Dr. Schreier. He has an easy and confident manner that made me feel comfortable and confident during a difficult time. He was honest about what could go wrong and fortunately, all went well and I would recommend him to both friends and family.

I had a consultation with Dr Schreier to remove my Gallbladder. Dr. Schreier informed my husband and I all of the variables that could occur with the surgery. I was afraid of the pain I had heard about. I can report 4 days post op I feel great with only minor discomfort. I am so glad to be rid of the Gallstone pain that I had. The office staff is excellent in scheduling and support for pre and post op information. West Hills Surgery center was also excellent.

Dr. David Schrier was called in to West Hills Hospital where I was recently diagnosed with an obstruction of the small intestine and performed an emergency surgery necessary to relieve the obstruction, also resecting the non-viable portion of the intestine. He is an extremely competent & skilled surgeon, performing these procedures laparoscopically. Along with his surgical skills, he is a caring, patient, and gracious physician, who is very reassuring to patients who are in pre-surgical crisis, and his aftercare is equally superb. His staff is highly knowledgeable, competent, and extremely caring. Special appreciation to Kerry Lynn who was most caring and compassionate when I had questions after leaving the hospital. She made a point to call me and check in on me, kind of like how a family member would treat me. In summary, no one looks forward to having health concerns or surgery, but if anyone should be in need of an excellent surgeon with a great office staff, look no further.
