Dr. David Vincent Spurlin, MD

Dr. Spurlin is my favorite doctor of all time. My husband amd I have been traveling across the country (from Connecticut and Indiana) with his job for the last 10 years. But I have been traveling back to Michigan for my annual appointments and at times, needed treatments. And now that we are back in Michigan, I continue my annual visits with a shorter 45 minute commute. Dr. Spurlin is authentically kind, patient, empathetic and truly cares about his patients. He’s the real deal. You will not feel like a transaction here. You will get the individual attention and genuine care that every patient wants and deserves. Always on time . Always attentive. Always thorough. And don’t be confused, Pinnacle Dermatology is NOT associated with the franchise Pinnacle Dermatology. I asked. This location is NOT part of that franchise that has the same name. It is owned and operated solely by Dr Spurlin. And you can tell. You will feel the independent attention and care that only a small business owner… can give; the moment you walk in the door and interact with Dr. Spurlin and his staff. They are truly the best of the best. HIGHLY RECOMMEND.

I love this office! Dr. Spurlin was very thorough when explaining my condition and treatment options. The nurses were very friendly and helpful. I definitely will recommend this office to all of my family and friends in need of a dermatologist.

One star for the terrible waste of time this office put me through. They recommended I take accutane even though I didn’t need it and it made absolutely no difference for six months. Really messed with my vitals - gave me high cholesterol. Requires you to get bloodwork monthly and visit monthly just so they can collect. Additionally, I went in to the office ten days before my wedding under stress because my skin was displaying new issues. Dr. Spurlin did not have the patience to deal with a stressed out bride so he walked out in the middle of my 5 minutes with him. Then he made it a point to come back and ask his assistant to leave the room because apparently he was “done with me”. Fairly unprofessional and inconsiderate; not what you’d expect from a real medical professional. I would not refer anyone I know to this man. After doing some research online, I realize that I am not the only patient he has mistreated. He develops an opinion about patients and it is not a professional… health care provider opinion. It's a matter of if he likes you or not. Regardless, I never once felt like I was under the care of someone I could trust. It is my fault for not knowing and leaving his care sooner. But I really don't want anyone else to go through a similar or worse experience.

He took care of me and my husband and was great

I find him to be very rude and sort of a "know-it-all". He was the worst Doctor I have ever been to and would not ever go back to see him again. He also got very argumentative and stormed out of the room. The nurse/assistant had to finish the appointment and recommended what products and routines I should use for me acne. He never came back in the room which was to my happiness only because of how argumentative and rude he was to me. No beside manners at all.

I visited Dr. Spurlin because I needed to have a weird growth analyzed and removed. I couldn't be happier with how my visits went. Dr. Spurlin has that perfect balance of deep knowledge in his field and light-hearted bedside manner that makes going to a doctor a calming and reassuring experience. While deciding on what do, he helped mitigate - without invalidating or trivializing - my concerns with some much appreciated humor. Throughout the whole process he listened to my experiences and concerns, he offered multiple next steps without pushing any of them on me, and did an expert and gentle job during the procedure that I chose to have. After these visits, I believe I can say that Dr. Spurlin isn't going to do anything that doesn't put the patient's well being and satisfaction first. My waits at the office were very short compared to other doctors' offices, and his staff were some of the best I've worked with. Both the receptionist staff and the medical assistants went… above and beyond to make my experience the best it could be. I don't think I can name any other doctor's office where both the doctor and the other staff have stood out as top-notch. In short, I would definitely recommend Dr. Spurlin and Pinnacle to anyone looking for a caring and knowledgeable dermatologist.

Dr. Spurlin is an exceptional doctor. His knowledge and expertise are unparalleled. I have been a patient since before I was married, and now bring my own children to him as well. Dr. Spurlin has always diagnosed and treated any skin related concerns/conditions for my entire family with 100% accuracy and with the best possible results. He has a terrific bedside manner that instantly puts his patients at ease. I trust and value his opinions regarding both preventative (skin protection/screenings) and aesthetic (anti-aging) skin care. I would not trust my skin care to anyone else.
