After over a 100 days in a Michigan top of the line hospital, it was a nursing home or try Mayo. At 46 a nursing home was not an option. I was on a central line for meds and nutrition, nothing by mouth for months. I was a very sick lady, pulmonary embolisms, down to 74# at 5'4. I could ramble on but after arriving at Mayo, Dr. Michael Camilleri and Dr. Larson saved my life. I started to be able to eat within hours after a procedure and my care continued to be outstanding. It was a miracle to see what teams of doctors could not see, but a different hospital, and outlook had a totally different outlook and outcome. David W. Larson MD was my surgeon and I can't thank him or the team at Mayo enough for my life.

i have been going to larson for over 3 years now and i honestly dont know what i would do without him. i dont like any other surgeon touching me, nor do i trust anybody else. he has been such a great surgeon as well as a tremendous believer in me in concurring my ulcerative colitis. if it wasn't for dr. larson, i would not be here today due to other hospital refused to do surgery on me when my small intestine perforated and i became deadly septic. thank god larson made it clear to my health insurance this was a life or death situation and had me med-flighted immediately from ohio to minnesota and performed emergency surgery. i cannot thank dr. larson enough for what he has done for me and my family.

Dr Larson made it possible for me to have the J-pouch surgery by making the probability of surgery possible. He performed 3 surgeries instead of two to accomplish my goal. He understood it was important to me to be free of an ostomy to have a normal lifestyle. Other Drs had given up.
