Dr. Debra Kay Higginbotham, MD

My grandmother has been a patient of this doctor for about 4 years and she is always saying that she is mean to her and makes very rude remarks to her. So I took her to her next appointment with her and her appointment was at 1:30 and at 2:30 Dr.Higgenbotham comes out and says you are going to have to wait even longer I am starving and need to eat. I couldn’t believe what I had just heard. Mind you my grandmother had Parkinson’s and gets very anxious she had already been very patient and when the Dr. told her that she started crying and said I don’t think I can wait any longer. I got her up and we left we will not be returning. Beware of this doctor she doesn’t have an ounce of compassion for her patients.

Dr. H is amazing. When my husband went through cancer she told us " don't worry, thats my job!". I can't tell you how much it meant to me to know she had his back. She has watched over my children and grandchildren and family members who have needed care on vacation. She is like family. I wish her only the best in life.

My mother in law, who has Dementia, sees this doctor. She prescribed medication for her that was helping. When my mil was adjusted to the proper level of 10 ml at night and 10 ml in the evening (4 five milligram pills), we did a follow up visit. Dr. Higgenbothem then changed the prescription to 2 ten milligram pills, one in the morning and one in the evening. When I went to pick up the pills, I noticed that it said one pill in the morning daily. It is now a day and a half later and I am sitting in this office after two phone calls from the pharmacy and four phone calls from me and Dr. Higgenbothem just told me that she is too busy to correct the wrong prescription.... my MIL becomes very agitated, doesn’t eat, and is more confused than usual when she is not on these pills. Do not go to see this woman.

Two weeks after the pharmacy called the doctor's office for a prescription refill, and after five phone calls from the patient, the prescription still has not been filled. The front office stated that there is not reason the prescription should not be filled.

I have followed Dr. Higginbotham since she was at the Rodeo Plaza. She sits and talks to me and explains everything to me. Her staff is great! Melissa is always helpful and kind to me, as well the Nurse who is always pleasant. Phyllis

After seeing Higginbotham for just under a year, I went to another doctor with a pleasant, normal office and a pleasant, normal, competent, staff. What a relief it is to be out of Bizarro Land!

A family member and myself both use Dr. Higginbotham. She apparently had a disagreement with this family member of which I was unaware. A few weeks later I saw the Dr. and her comment to me was "you are just like your ----- so you won't do as I say". She was disrespectful and unprofessional by assuming that I would react the same way as my relative. I won't go back.

Saw her after surgery to get my wounds checked and a refill on my pain killers as I had run out. Was kept waiting for over 90 minuets to see her. To be yelled at the whole time. I was called a drug addic. Which I am not. I was told I'm faking all my problems. Also Im able to fake my blood test results now that is impossible. She told me she didn't care about me . Treated me like I was dirt on her shoe. I'm reporting to the SM board of doctors.

My husband and I love Dr. Higgenbothem!
