Dr. Donald Vincent Belsito

I wish I had read the reviews before seeing Dr. Belsito for some skin issues after having partial knee replacement surgery. His bedside manner immediately made me feel uncomfortable. He then ordered an invasive round of patch testing, ignoring my medical history and, not surprisingly (given that history), it caused a systemic flare. Dr. Belsito didn't provide any after-care, leaving me to languish in full body hives and itching. Even after my surgeon told me I needed to be put on steroids "immediately," Dr. Belsito was difficult to get a hold of and hostile when I finally spoke to him. Dr. Belsito saw me multiple times for the patch testing, but refused to prescribe the medication unless I came in for another office visit, which he couldn't schedule until the following week. At that point, the flare was so bad that I needed to go to the hospital but, fortunately, I avoided that by finding another dermatologist who called in the RX. I later discovered the patch testing was… totally unnecessary (and inaccurate in determining allergies to a metal implant inside the body). I had a simple LTT blood test (NOT done with Dr. Belsito), which gave me much more accurate results. Dr. Belsito refused to discuss the results of the blood test with me, unable to acknowledge new data and how it might color the results of the work he did.

Professional. Effective. Prompt.

I have never experienced a doctor lacking such bedside manners as. Dr. Belsito. I went to him extremely painful skin due to auto-immune disease. He basically started yelling at me, did nothing to help my condition and told me told me not to come back. It was a horrible experience and I left devastated. It took several doctors to get a diagnosis, but even the ones who could not figure it out were supportive and kind. This man is vile and should not be practicing medicine.

I seen Dr. Belsito in Kansas city and I had psoriasis on 95% of my body. He cleared me up and I am still disappointed he left kc for New York.

Was examined by Dr. Belisto on first visit, a tiny sliver of skin was taken for a biopsy, returned 2 weeks later for results which were not very explicative and was told I might be allergic to "Something" !! Assistant assured me of future contact by her or the office to schedule some allergy tests. That was I believe Nov. 26. , never heard from anyone. Today is Jan. 8. Thanks for this opportunity . Dr. Belsito follows through on questions and problems. He expects the best of himself and those working with him. He is present to his patients. He explains procedures well. Excellent!
