Dr. Larry Douglas Alford JR., MD

I have been a patient of Dr. Alford's for a few years now and have found him to be helpful and on top of any issues that I might have. His staff is equally as responsive. Dr. Alford is easy to talk to and patient. Though I have not needed him per any hospitalization, I was pleased that he also does rounds each week with his patients in the hospital. My wife, who is a bit of a Doctor snob has also joined me as a patient of his and she loves how well he cares for her issues.

Dr Alford is so special. I’m a registered nurse with over 30 years experience and have worked with many good doctors in Birmingham. My husband is a patient of Dr Alford and I see how knowledgeable and sincere he is in treating my husband. He has a gift I wish more had in the medical field and that’s his ability to LISTEN to the patient and family. He first LISTENS then asks questions - he takes the time needed to understand what the patient is telling him before he writes a prescription or orders a test. He cares.

Very caring. He truly cares for his patients. Have to wait most every time due to people really like him and are willing to wait.

I have been going to see Dr Alford for several years now and think he is a great doctor. He gives kind, compassionate and intelligent care. His nurse and nurse practitioner are bot great. The lab lady is accomplished at drawing blood Front desk staff is always helpful.

I feel I have gotten the best of care since I have been under Dr. Alford. He is a kind and caring Doctor. He is also my Primary Care Physician when I am admitted to the hospital at St. Vincent's Birmingham.

I would choose Dr. Alford over and over again, he treats any illness I have ever had quickly and strongly. He even takes the time to heal wounds and misunderstandings between my husband and family members as my husband walks down the road with Parkinson. He is a very caring person and we gratefully appreciate him.

Doug has been my Doc for 7 years. Overall I am happy with him. Like anything else there are some things that could improve but for the most part he provides better care than most doctors. He is also very well educated and intellegent. He is sharp, quick to know and indentify the visible ailments. He's my go to guy. The getting someome on the phone problem seems to have gotten better lately.

If if was not for Doug I would have died.one good doctor been to a lot of doctors and he is the best

Dr. Alford has been my primary care doctor for over 10 years. He is a wonderful christian physican. He is very well educated doctor who cares greatly about his patients. I have been more than pleased to have him as my doctor.

Can't get anyone to ever answer the phone to schedule an appointment. When you do,she will put you on hold forever. He needs a new Office Manager or Receptionist. Hope SHE sees this!
