Dr. Edward Antonio Pensa, MD

I made a choice to leave Dr Pensa because at my last colonoscopy review he said he would see me in 3 years for a colonoscopy. I was diagnosed with several intestinal problems that resulted in several procedures and two serious surgeries. I need more follow up with what i am dealing with which is serious. I requested an appt for that reason for follow up through the portal and received an appt in 2027. Its isnt okay so I chose to leave him He at that point sent me a certified letter twice, would not return any phone calls to discuss medication while looking for a new physician. I made my choice for health reasons. He made no contact back to talk about medication refills until I secured a new physician. I was stopped at reception calling & when I called the office and they would not put me through. I was also informed by Dr Pensa that I ended services with "the practice" so I was not able to make an appt with ANY doctor in the practice. This appears to be neglectful because I… have serious issues with my gastro system. I was immediately cut off from.contact as I was doing the best thing to maintain my health. Taking medicine and not following up until the next colonoscopy in 3 years is not in keeping with the several daily issues I deal with such as consistent diarrhea;, pain, in my gut, acid reflux..stricture in my bile duct from a blockage that required an ERCP.for a high suspicion of bile duct cancer and removal of appendix from my cecum also noting an appendeceal neoplasm highly suspicious of Appendeceal cancer. All on file with RIMI, Dr Pensa, me as i have copies of all records and Rhode Island Hospital and St Joseph Hospital. To cut me off immediately because his ego was hurt is unprofessional and to stop me from seeing another physician in this huge practice is wrong and a violation of my patient rights. You made no attempt to discuss medication f/u and a certified letter arrived telling me to find someone in.the yellow pages. I maintain copies of all of this. Dr Pensa cut off contact with me immediately which is unequivocally wrong, denied me seeing another doctor in.the practice which was against my rights & took down my portal and never messaged me back. I am doing what's best for my health.

Landed in the hospital because he would not give me medication. Had cat scan and wasn’t even home yet and was called to get right to the hospital. Had a ruptured diverticulitis. Cost me money when all he needed to do was see me in his office

Dr. Pensa is dedicated, professional, respectful, caring and kind. I think he is the best in his field and his office staff is great - especially Lucy. I would highly recommend Dr.Pensa to my family and friends.
