Dr. Edward Shalts, MD

Edward Shalts, M.D. is a Board Certified Psychiatrist with extensive experience in neurophysiology and holistic medicine. Dr. Shalts graduated from Medical School in Moscow, U.S.S.R. in 1982. He worked as Research Fellow in the Neuro-Endocrinology Laboratory at Columbia University from 1989 to 1993. Dr. Shalts authored a number of neurophysiology articles in major medical publications. After passing the Medical Boards he did his residency and served as the chief resident at the Department of Psychiatry at the Beth Israel Medical Center in New York City. Dr. Shalts worked as Assistant Unit Chief in the Department of Psychiatry at the Beth Israel Medical Center and then joined the Center for Health and Healing at Beth Israel Medical Center where he worked for over 4 years. Dr. Shalts continued his clinical practice in the private medical office specializing in treatment of geriatric and custodial population. Dr. Shalts joined MHMC in November 2011. He is also a faculty member of the …Center for Health and Healing at the Beth Israel Medical Center, the Institute for Complementary and Alternative Medicine, UMDNJ and the New York College of Osteopathic Medicine.
