Poor customer service, office staff is extremely rude. Patients are on their own to achieve expected processes. There's NO communication between office staff, nutritionists or other affiliated professionals required to fulfill the "Akkary check-off Procedures." Nor, does the staff attempt to assist you to resolve issues or make accommodations for your busy schedule when it's an oversight on their part. Once the initial procedures are performed and you return for the follow-up you are expected to bring photos and or documents from the hospital and you have to pay another co-pay to discuss the findings. Funny thing is the hospital didn't provide all pictures per my procedure. So, I paid a co-pay just meet w/ the resident and go over a diagnoses, which can't be achieved without "ALL" said photos or documents. Moreover, you rarely see "Akkary!" Akkary & his worthless team boast that bariatric surgery is life changing, however, it's more an eye opener when you quickly realize what a scam… and money making scheme that is really going on. It's a joke and Akkary you should be ashame!!

Their satisfaction with him and his staff is amazing. Patients feel like he has changed their lives and he follows up with them for years. Dr. Akkary has performed 2 surgeries on me and I would recommend him to anyone. His bedside manner is like no other. My first visit I was given his cell number and he encourages you to call any time day or night. No other doctor has ever done that for me. He takes his time and explains everything and even draws a picture to show you what will be done. He has given me my life back and I couldn't be more thankful!!!

I had a gastric bypass in 2010. I lost 114 lbs. I got a bleeding ulcer in 2015 and gained some weight and can't get it off. Hopeful Dr. Akkary can help. He is a wonderful doctor, very knowledgeable and very friendly. I give him 5 stars.

I had my surgery about four years ago and Dr. Akkary was great I had to stay a little longer than planned. Dr. Akkary listen to me and my family and answered all of our questions before I left the hospital. I did good loosing the weight and following the diet plan. I have keep the weight off and I do feel better, I have maintain to keep my diabetes normal and all meds are gone plus I had high blood pressure and it is normal. The only health problem I have now is my heart problem which will not improve. I want to thank him for everything he has done for me. He is a doctor who really cares for his patience. Thanks again.

If you are looking for a doctor who will listen to you and explain what & why he's going to do something, you have found him. He has the added benefit of a wonderful bedside manner minus the arrogance found in doctors ( just because they are doctors, you have met a few if you're reading this I'm sure). In all he's a wonderful person who if you're lucky enough to find him, give him a call. You will have an amazing doctor who is there for you without dodging your call's no matter how silly you think the question or thought may be ( this isn't a paid ad I promise, you have his cellphone number incase of anything no matter the time. Sorry, but I've never been able to reach a doctor 24-7 without going through a answering service and even then how many times do you get to talk to them? Not many from my experience and I've seen more doctors than I care to think about.) he's always able to answer it or calm your pre surgery nerves. He's great if you're looking for anything in his specialty and… if I could, he'd be my doctor for everything, but he's only one person so I will settle for his specific fields.

Had lap band in 2011 and because he kept moving could not get follow up care, because he moved to far for me to travel and my band had complications and had to seek a closer Beriatrics doctor. Had to have revision in2014 to R N Y in Virginia.

Dr. Akkary listens and he takes excellent care of his patients. I am so thankful that i met him

I am a physician. After researching and exploring all my options for bariatric surgery, I decided to see Dr. Akkary. Based on his reputation, I even went out of network to have him do my surgery. I can attest that Dr. Akkary is a superb clinician with a great bedside manner as well. I would recommend him to anyone in need of bariatric, or any general surgical procedures. His staff is also excellent.

my wife has seen dr. akkary for all her preop going for surgury tommorow. He has a manner that is very caring for his paitents. I personally am not a fan of doctors in general so i tend to critique them harder than i should but i am absoulutly impressed with Dr. Akkary and his staff.he was very exact in hs testing to check her out to see if she was a cnidate for surgery. i am gald he is doing this procedure on my wife and i will say he is the best doctor i have ever met. so in simple terms i would recomend him to any one.
