Dr. Elina Burstyn, DO

STAY AWAY FROM THIS PRACTICE. Dr. Elina Burstyn is a dismissive provider who is not client-centered, not empathetic, and doesn't appear to understand the impacts of mental health and its effects on her patients. I never had an issue with PA Haley Decker, but ever since I've seen Dr. Elina Burstyn, all I've had is problems. She considers 120/80 (and close to) as high blood pressure even though it's considered normal. I even talked to my primary care doctor about my blood pressure, and my primary has no concerns at all. Elina Burstyn changed my birth control with no plan in place, changing it only on her opinion that she thought my blood pressure was high, never asking for my opinion or creating a plan to monitor my health. She never explained how the birth control she put me on would affect me. She talked in circles, not being able to explain questions when asked, and acted very offended and rude when asked questions that challenged her opinion or sought out more clarification. Do… not go here; you don't deserve to be treated like this. Find a practice that will treat you with kindness, respect, and not medically gaslight you.

Dr. Burstyn is a great OBGYN to my wife. My wife always raves about how Dr. Burstyn treats her and always recommends what’s the best approach for her.

I have been a patient here for several years and I normally see Sue who has been nothing but amazing! I am so sad to hear she will be leaving the practice. I've seen a few other mid levels and they were all wonderful. The front staff has always been so friendly and kind as well. However, Dr. Burstyn has 0 bed side manner and I felt as if I was being dismissed and talked down to. I also work in healthcare and no matter how busy the office gets you always give the patient the time, detail, and attention they deserve. In this case - I received none of these things. She seemed to also have no idea why I was even there in the first place and seemed confused as to why I would even be coming in for such an issue - which I have been experiencing for 1 year. Sadly with the news of Sue leaving I have no reason to even consider staying at this practice. It's a shame that the "face" of the practice really puts a negative reputation on the place as a whole considering the rest of the staff has… been nothing but great.

No bedside manner; she is somewhat cold. She wrote the wrong script for the imaging she wanted done, causing me to lose leave time at my job because the imaging office couldn’t do what she wanted. I had made an appointment for what she told me to and when the staff saw the script they said they had to reschedule me because those appointments are made on certain days when the technician who knows how to operate that machinery is available. When I called Burstyn’s office and explained the problem I never received an apology. I left her and went to another doctor who actually cares about her patients, not just their wallets.

Rude, know it all doctor with no bedside manner. Won't listen to patient or keep patient informed. Either doesn't keep good records or doesn't read them. Doesn't know one patient from the next, just keeps ordering expensive and unneeded tests. Don't dare question her or she really gets nasty.

Thank you so much Dr. Burstyn for coming in on your night off to deliver my son--as always you were calm and made me feel so comfortable. I was so grateful to have you there. You have been such an amazing doctor and we appreciate the care you provided me with.

Dr. Burstyn and everyone I met today was very kind and professional. I have to rave about her small hands, and chocolate kisses at the check out add to the pleasant atmosphere

I cannot even tell you how severely disappointed I am in the "Manager" (who never even told us his name) of Dr. Burstyn's office (her husband). We never even were seen by Dr. Burstyn so I cannot tell you anything about that because we were refused care because of a form we would not sign. The form indicates that even if it is an INN network provider, if some ambiguous amount of time goes by and they do not get paid--they can BALANCE BILL YOU. Which is not allowed for INN providers-EVER. So not only should the form never be an issue, the fact that he tried to get us to sign it in order to be see is asinine. The fact that nobody reads what they are signing these days is even MORE DISTURBING. NEEDLESS TO SAY, THE FIRST IMPRESSION WAS TERRIBLE. WE WILL NOT BE GOING BACK. PEOPLE SHOULD BE MORE AWARE AND NOT IGNORANT OF THE THINGS THEY ARE SIGNING. THEY SHOULD NOT EVEN BE ALLOWED TO HAVE PATIENTS SIGN THAT FORM EITHER.
