Dr. Emily R Pineda, MD

have been seeing Dr Pineda for several years, and if it weren’t for her I would not be where I am now. I went from not being able to push a grocery cart due to elbow and wrist pain to being almost pain free. Part of it is dependent on my diet like getting the sugar out and part of it is her closely monitoring my symptoms. I see a handful of doctors and she is the only one who will look me in the eyes and actually listen. I am so grateful to have found her and have her as my doctor.

Dr Pineda has treated my arthritis for several years. I am almost pain-free due to her expertise.

I started to see Dr. Pineda in 2013, she was highly recommended by my PCP for my newly diagnosed autoimmune condition: Scleroderma/interstitial lung disease. At the time I was progressing at an excessive rate, Dr. Pineda treated me, and recommended me to an amazing pulmonologist as well. They coordinated my treatments with medications and infusions, and the promotion of healthier lifestyle that included vitamins, healthy foods, and light exercising. She has her own regime for patients to follow, and she promoted her program Ideal Weight Loss. Unfortunately, I did not have time to join but it was available to me, but Dr. Pineda really stresses the importance of a healthier lifestyle and avoiding foods that can cause inflammation. I was closely monitored and completed labs regularly and completed my yearly imaging to check my progression and went to the infusion treatments in her office. I kept up with my health and now I am stable. Thanks to Dr. Pineda and her staff I get to have a… normal feeling life and will be forever grateful.

This was by far the worst experience. I was undermedicated and the office would not return my calls to adjust my meds. Then the receptionist said It would be best to never return to that office. This is how you'll get treated. Apparently that have too many patients, so they don't really need the business.

Emily Pineda is an uncaring, inept physician. Her staff do not communicate with each other. She makes medical mistakes--in my case she prescribed large doses of folic acid long-term; folic acid is poorly absorbed by the body so it accumulates until it makes you sick... Folate is a much better choice for long time use. I only saw her twice in two years; all meetings were with medical assistants who did not seem to communicate my situation to her. I had a long bout with chronic diarrhea and had to reschedule three of her appointments. I had told her staff, but they obviously did not tell her. She refused to renew my prescription for arthritis pain killers; left me stranded without meds.

Dr Pineda is a wonderful doctor . She's very knowledgable in her field and cares about her patients well being. She has a gentle hand when having to perform injections to her patients whom are already suffering. I have been under her medical care since the early 1990's. She has been able to successfully guide me with my medical care and continues to open my knowledge regarding my health condition. Kudos to her and her friendly staff

Dr. Pineda and her staff have made a tremendous difference in my life. I do not know where I would be if she had not accurately diagnosed and treated me. She takes a holistic approach to care that empowers patients, and she is a fantastic listener! Thank you!!!

After seeing Dr. Pineda and trying different treatment options, I am able to enjoy life once again!

My first appointment was in 2012, great first visit. She did a complete work up and spent about 30 min talking about my diagnosis. In the last 12 months my Inflammation levels are extremely high. Her next available is in 6 mo. I've seen the PA twice and very dissatisfied. My PCP would have done a better job. Had a steroid injection & 4 days later still in a lot of pain, have not returned to work the MA tells me the PA will not excuse that many days and called in prednisone. I Had to seek a second opinion 7 days later, and 2 more injections. No problem when asking for an excuse. In one week I called Dr. Pineda's office 3 x's was on hold 30,15, then 10 min. Asked for the office mgr and told she was on another call and the MA would call within 24 hrs. The MA was very rude. She must be in good health. No compassion or empathy. Instead I felt like I was interrupting her day. She is discourteous and graceless. I think it's time to move on to another rheumatologist. I think her practice has… grown so much the staff is overwhelmed & now you see the PA instead of the doctor.

I went to Dr. Pineda's office and only saw her for less than 2 minutes. I dealt with the PA every time I went in. The PA with the agreement of Dr. Pineda told me I had a thyroid problem and possibly Lupus or RA. They said the only thing I could do was continue to take the prescribed medicine and just wait. Every time I went in there, I was told it would take two to three more months before I saw a difference. I went and got a second opinion from Dr. Ballister-Fiallo. She not only spent an hour with me during my appointment but in less than a week was able to determine my diagnosis which was neither possibility that Dr. Pineda or her PA determined. I am deeply upset that I spent 5 months with Dr. Pineda's staff and was unable to get correctly diagnosed or assisted for something that took less than a week to determine. I am also upset that Dr. Pineda's bedside manner is only worth two minutes of her time. Her patients deserve better.
