Dr. Eric R Eggenberger, DO

I had a bad experience with Dr. Eggenberger. He completely disregarded my vision issues, and while I believe nothing is wrong with my optic nerve, something is wrong with my vision. His ego and bedside manner were awful, and I would not recommend him, especially if you are a woman.

I was referred to the Mayo Clinic with neurological issues seemly stemming from cataract surgery . I have 6 persistent and at times disabling symptoms. I had already seen 7 other specialists when I was referred to this Dr.He was patronizing , talked down to me and did nothing. He ran 1 test I had already had done and tried to fit me for glasses? Also if you have an issue with Mayo, too bad. Apparently the doctors are completely in charge . I wonder if the Board of Directors for this in profit are aware of how poorly patients are treated.

Dr. Eggenberger is a thoughtful and kind doctor and man! He really listens to me, and he is gentle and caring. He has treated me twice for optic neuritis with Solumedrol smoothies. This is just as effective as being hospitalized and treated through IVs — which is how I was treated by my former neuro-ophthalmologist.

Dr. Eggenberger has treated me for recurring optic neuritis. He used a convenient treatment that I did at home, it seems to be just as effective as the intravenous steroid treatments. He's also a kind, personable man who is willing to spend time listening as well as his expertise.

My husband was admitted to ER with textbook vertigo symptoms. Dr. Eggenberger examined my husband and performed bedside tests that revealed a specific virus causing the vertigo symptoms. My husband and myself were impressed with his knowledge and expertise. I would highly recommend Dr. Eggenberger.
