Dr. Ernest Kelvin Manders, MD

I went to Dr. Manders to correct a severely botched scar revision done by Dr. Batman Guyuron in Lyndhurst, ohio. Dr. Manders operated on my cheek to improve a deformity left from a previous surgery he performed. Yes I made a terrible mistake allowing him to operate again. This is my single biggest regret of my life! Dr. Manders said to me in recovery room "I didn't think it would work " Then why Dr. Manders did you do it! Approximately two months after the surgery I noticed that when my left eye blinked the left corner of my mouth went up! I was told the nerve when healing attached to the wrong muscle and what I had was called synkinesis. This is a debilitating condition that is progressive. I suffer from constant tightness and pain in my face and my left side of mouth moving with every blink. It has also changed my appearance causing atrophy of my facial muscles You have ruined my life! You retired following my surgery. While you are enjoying your retirement I suffer every day. I've… often been asked what happened to your face! You are not a facial nerve specialist! Your being head of facial nerve mislead me to choosing you as my surgeon.Pkease answer me Dr. Manders If you thought it would n"r work why did you do it?

Dr. Manders did a surgery on my left cheek to correct a deformity. In the recovery room he stated to me " I didn't think it would work." A few months after this surgery I developed synkinesis.My facial muscles are very tight and I'm in pain most of the time. My face has changed in appearance due to facial atrophy.why didn't you tell me the risks of having this procedure which should have been avoided since you didn't think it was going to work. I will suffer with this the rest of my life. I've also been told I have acquired facial deformity I'm often asked what happened to my face. This is the second time your surgery caused facial nerve damage! My life is a living hell now now Dr. Manders!

We were blessed to be put in touch with Dr. Manders while searching for someone for nearly a year to operate on my wife who had had a double mastectomy and lymph nodes removed which left her with large masses under each arm. This had a severe effect on her as it prevented her from getting proper sleep, she could not put her arms completely down, and they were painful, not to mention unsightly. Dr. Manders performed her day surgery yesterday, Halloween, at his Oregon venue and did a stellar job. My wife is more than pleased, as am I, and she is home resting. Staff is the only good part about his office. You will be very lucky if you are able to finish one sentence while you are talking to this guy. He doesn't listen at all and talks over you. He is not knowledgeable about insurance (believes Obamacare covers things it doesn't) and can easily screw you over there if you don't know your stuff. He will consistently interrupt you and make assessments based on things you didn't even say. He rushes you with interrupting and then it is obvious at the end of the visit that he didn't actually pay attention at all. Then he dictates letters in front of you while you're in the office. Even with an advocate there, he'll have made up his mind about you before he walks into the room.

I was referred to Hershey medical center for a problem with modular fasciitis which was embedded in my chest wall around my lungs and followed the path into my back..this was a 8 hour tedious surgery but Dr Manders also is a very kind compassionate great plastic surgeon which I feel is the best around......

In 1988, Dr. Manders performed a breast reduction surgery at Hershey Medical Center to alleviate the back pain I was experiencing. Words can't fully express my esteem for this kind and caring physician. His knowledge and skill as a surgeon are beyond reproach. But his genuine concern for his patients is unmatchable! I feel so blessed by my "once in a life time" encounter. And if you see this, Dr. Manders, I still think of you often and pray that all the good you have done and continue to do will be returned to you a hundred fold!
