Dr. Francis Kielar, MD

As a patient of Dr. Kielar's for over a decade I am VERY disappointed over the last few years what I have experienced. It's time to find a new more considerate, caring and compassionate healthcare provider. Examples of dissatisfaction include needing an updated prescription for work purposes (expired days earlier), Dr. Kielar refused to assist without me paying for an in office visit to come in days later to then hand it to me. Another time, I needed FMLA for work and the doctor refused to sign the paperwork while I was sitting in office without me paying an additional fee, and told me I would have to return days later to get it back. More recently when in office for an annual physical, I started to explain some issues I have been experiencing, Dr. Kielar cut me off and told me this is not a sick visit, to make an appointment later. Most recently, I needed insurance covered compression socks, Dr. was not knowledgeable of brand and refused to sign, told me to stick with OTC socks.

My husband and I switched to Dr Keilar 5 years ago after being dissatisfied with our previous doctor. His was my mother’s physician. He always listens, asks questions and thoughtfully prescribes whatever is necessary to solve a medical issue. Examination rooms are a bit small and could use some updating, office staff is friendly and accommodating.

Ive been a patient of Dr. Kielar's for over a decade now and have noticed as of recently that he is not as approachable and open to listening as he once was, this definitely set of a concern in my mind as Ive always respected Dr. Kielar's willingness to hear his patients concerns and wonderful listening skills. During my last visit I felt things have changed and that I was rushed and could not feel open to fully discuss my health concerns.

I've been his patient for many years, he always takes his time and listens to everything you tell him. He has seen me through many illnesses and I trust him completely.

By far the worst Primary Care Provider my family has ever had! Dr. Kielar's office staff is nasty, lazy and worst of all incompetent. They don't return your phone calls, don't call back with test results and are unable to get you a referral in a timely manner. My wife was suffering with terrible neck pain and needed to get to a orthopedic doctor immediately. I called for a referral and Maggie answered and said Dr. Kielar was on vacation and there was no way to get an emergency referral. I called my insurance provider who offered to do a conference call to see if they could help Maggie through the referral process. While on the conference call Maggie said she could not do referrals. I asked if there was a covering Dr. that could assist. In a very nasty and frustrated tone she rattled off a Dr's name and said "Go Google him" and hung up! The insurance agent from United Healthcare was still on the line and commented "How unprofessional, I would find a new primary care Dr!!!". Which is… exactly what we are doing! If anyone is looking for a primary care provider I would highly recommend Dr. Suda in Kinnelon (only a few miles away). My family used Dr Suda for 13yrs but had to change due to a new insurance plan. We miss him and his professional, kind and courteous staff.

My family has been with Dr Kielar 30+ yrs. Highly recommend. He saw my son at age 2 weeks and treats my 94 yo grandfather. Very compassionate, excellent bedside manner, never feel rushed and wonderful sense of humor. I recommend him to all of my friends and family.....and now, to strangers :)

Started out with him when he was in Kennedy hospital, Edison, N.J. He is great. Does research before he give medicines, if he feels needed.

Dr. Kielar is a very personable person, he is easy to get an appointment with, and he makes you feel like he is really listening. However, none of this matters if he doesn't get the diagnosis right. He missed an obvious diagnosis in my father for three years, and by the time someone else correctly found the disease, he had only months to live because the disease was so far advanced. Being nice only goes so far. At some point, you need to have the medical knowledge to back up your license. I would never recommend this physician to any of my family or friends.

going to see Dr. Kielar is like going to see a good friend....have been his patient for many years and always feel uplifted after seeing him.....he is very understanding, easy to talk to...i highly recommend!!!

I have been to many doctors and Dr. Kielar is by far the best. I was referred to him by a friend. Dr. Kielar is extremely personable and he takes his time and listens to me every time I go to his office. He is quite a professional and is simply great. Any time someone complains about there own doctor I make sure to mention Dr. Kielars name and tell them how great he is.
