Dr. George William Leyda JR., MD

A visit with Dr. Leyda is always prompt, professional, personal and an absolute pleasure. I have been seeing Dr. Leyda for many years and he is consistently practical, real and realistic about his approach, recommendations and diagnosis.

My son developed a rash all over his leg. My pediatrician was out that day and Dr. Leyda was my only option. He told me my son had impetigo. He over-treated him giving him antibiotics and all of these ointments. A week later the rash hadn’t improved so I took my son into our pediatrician. He was shocked that we were told it was impetigo. It was eczema. He was surprised that Dr Leyda prescribed all of that unnecessary medication. He told us that medication was making his eczema worse because it was drying his skin out more. Makes me sick. I knew I should have waited to get in to our pediatrician. I wouldn’t recommend this doctor to anybody.

I started going to see Dr. Leyda due to an emergency situation when they were still at the old clinic attached to the old hospital. I have been a patient of his ever since. I constantly hear other people talking about how hard it is to get in to see their doctor or that their doctor doesn't listen. I have been through some pretty serious episodes in the 16 years he's been my primary care doctor and he has always had my best interests in mind, always listens, is easy to talk to and treats you more as a person not just a patient. I have moved in that time to another city, but still go to Hudson for my medical needs, as long as he is in practice that's where I will continue to go.

Dr. Leyda cares for you like you are in his family. He is a thoughtful doctor who takes times to look at all sides of a situation. He is confident,knowledgeable, experienced and very proficient. He knows when to act in a quick response and when to be patient. When things need urgency he does everything he can to minimize outside time frames. We have doctored with him for 20 years now and chose to keep him with a longer drive when we moved after trying to find a new family doctor closer to our new home. He delivered our children and has provided family care bar none. Is he perfect...probably not, none of us are...but we think he is the best match for our family and the care we need at all stages.
