Dr. Gilbert Tetteh Tamakloe, MD

I had suffered from brain trauma (including retrograde amnesia) from seizures that nearly took my life. My case was too much for this doctor and he dropped me. I was only a few months from having brain surgery.

Very limited office hours. He is only available from Monday to Wednesday 1-4, which is very strange for any professional doctor. If you have to reschedule, he won't have any appointments available in 3 to 4 months. He very often rescheduled my appointments without any notification. He believes himself to be more important than your school, work, and family so if you keep rescheduling, he will discharge you. I was told by his staff to call every day in case something became available. I called every day and then he discharged me because i couldn't see him. His office staff is very rude. They have often put me on hold for over 10 minutes just to hang up on me. He over-medicates and berates me for having terrible side effects to the medications he prescribes.

He is one of the most excellent physicians in Orlando and just a nice person!!

This doctor loves to over medicate. I once had to stop a few of the prescriptions he prescribed due to their awful side effects. He accused me of "playing doctor" and said I was "too sensitive". I once developed an addicted to xanax. His solution was to give me more xanax. This might be due to the fact that he receives lots of free lunches from drug companies and doesn't want to lose that luxury.

Dr. Tamakloe actually cares about his patients. He listens, allows for adequate time, considers costs, and does not face a computer the entire time you are talking - he is also a kind person which is a extraordinary trait in physicians in my experience. I have been to a few psychiatrists and there are two in Orlando which I highly recommend, Dr. Tamakloe being one of them. Wait time may vary due to emergencies.

Often prescribes drugs with deadly side effects without telling you the side effects. His method is to prescribe medication with lots of negative side effects so he can prescribe other medications to counter-act them. It becomes an endless cycle. He cares about the money he gets from pharmaceutical companies and not his patients.

Best Doctor in Central Florida in his field. Really listens not like most in his field.

Dr T is THE man. He has pretty much saved my life. He understands, he listens, he makes you feel like a human. After experiencing so many jaded doctors who just saw another junkie coming through the door, he has completely changed my opinion of Behavioral Disorder Doctors. My Only minor complaint is that *some* of the staff can be complacent in cases where you need refills on meds you can't just stop -They don't seem to recognize th urgency yoand anxiety you're experiencing - However, there is one staff member who does get things done, but I'll leave that to you to develop your own relationship with the staff. I will say the nurse is your best friend, so find yours and treat her like gold, because she is, and will save your butt in times of trouble. All in all, I highly recommend Dr T and his staff to anyone who needs help.

Trustable and intelligent Dr Tamakloe is a caring doctor who seems to be educated on new medicine.
