We are waiting 10 days for referral to endocrinologist and still unable to make an appointment. Is this normal waiting time in this office?

Went and was seen by Jessica as tricia has left let me tell you what a great visit she asked me questions and answers all mine orders blood work and a test x Ray quite a breath of fresh air someone who listens to me highly recommend

Just had a 6 month follow up where I was seen for about 5 minutes at most, not even asked how I was or feeling and how my disease is and just sent to the lab for my bloodwork which is necessary...absolutely terrible, not a care for my well being whatsoever and certainly was no follow up either. Now told that one will no longer see Dr Mercadante but will now have to see a NP. Leaving the practice is an option I was told when I stated that I did not like that.

The office staff is always friendly you don't have to wait long for an appointment. I highly recommend switching PCP to them !!

My wife went to the office and was told she had to have bloodwork done. They took 6 vials of blood. The office called my wife about 7:30 PM telling her she needed to go to the cancer center on the following Monday. This was on Thursday of the prior week. My wife was so scared she was crying. I tried to comfort her but to no avail. How do you comfort someone that is being told they need to see a cancer doctor. Now imagine you get a call from a doctor at night which never happens and they tell you that they set up an appointment with a cancer doctor but you have to wait the entire weekend to find out why. We arrived at the Cancer center on Monday for her appointment and when the doctor came through the door she asks us "Why are you here"? My wife almost flipped and I looked at her and said "REALLY"? Mercadante's office never sent the blood work or any other information to the cancer center for her appointment. This is absolutely unacceptable. This office is so incompetent I… don't even have words. While at the cancer center the doctor ordered more bloodwork and advised my wife that she would have more information the next day. This is not the first time Marcadante's office has screwed up. My wife has gone there and was told just go to the emergency room more than three times because they don't know how to treat people. If you value truth and professionalism from the people that are supposed to be caring for your health then I suggest not going here or if you do find another doctor. This staff and doctor are not going to take care of you health and well being. You'd be better off going to the Veterinarian across the parking lot.

I had to call twice within 2 weeks to get results....this happened on 3 different occasions. There overbooked and understaffed....Dr. mercadante was very rude when he called back with results. I waited for 2 weeks for important results and because his office staff did not know what they were doing, he got mad at me.... I've worked in the medical field for over 20 years, and this office is horrible... if you care about your health, go somewhere else.... they just book as many patients as they can for the money, and when it's time to help and call back these patients, they never do. They have no idea what they are doing....You have to call and harass them, and than they get mad.terrible office!!!

This office is ridiculous. They never contact me with test results. I've waited weeks and had to call them only to wait days more for a response. They won't refill prescriptions online. I have to call the office for refills every month then drive out from East Longmeadow to Ludlow to pick them up then drive back to East Longmeadow to drop off at my pharmacy. Over an hour of travel. My pharmacy has tried to get direct refills for me and they've responded with emails and fax that state that the request is "unreasonable", leaving me days without what I need and in great discomfort. When I asked why over the phone today, the response was "This system works best for our office." I told her it doesn't work best for me and was told about the extended office hours that should make picking up my prescriptions more "convenient." I work full time. I'm a mom to 2 active boys. Needless to say, I'm currently looking for a new Drs office to deal with. **UPDATE** My prescriptions were just picked up… and filled. 1 is completely wrong. Should be 30 mg time release capsules. They wrote it out as 20 mg tablets. I specifically stated the dosage info on the phone this morning when requesting the refill. You can imagine how angry I am because fixing this involves more phone calls, another hour of travel and dealing with the insurance company because of 2 different prescriptions for the same meds in 24 hrs. Im done with this office.

Dr. Mercadante pays close attention to symptoms, and researches potential causes, eliminating them by testing & other means. He will stay with a problem until he has a strong handle on it. And, until you understand the particulars of it. How to best treat it. He will put in a lot of time, if a lot of time is needed. Cares about his patients.

Worked with me through various issues. Sent me to top specialists to get best diagnosis & treatment plans. Has great instincts, and will turn to experts in various fields anytime specialized expertise is needed.
