Two years ago Dr. Halko mutilated my hand. I have had 5 surgeries since because of what he did. I will never get my mobility back. He wrote in my medical record that I agreed to things that were never discussed and didn't bother talking to me or my family after the surgery. I hope writing this prevents someone else from getting hurt by this man or this facility.

I just saw what Halko did to my cousin. He mutilated her hand and didn't tell her what he was doing to her and didn't bother to talk to her or our family after her surgery. Our group is spreading the word to everyone and on every site we can, as well as our churches and other organizations we belong to. I just saw a couple of reviews on this site and they are BOGUS as well as the BOGUS site Mercy set up to cover for this man. What this man did to her makes me sick! This man is a jerk and liar!

Dr. Halko said there were several things that could have been done to save my fingers but never discussed those options with me. When asked why, he said that it was the doctors job to make that decision. He also never discussed amputation with me. He felt is was better to just do it and let me find out when my bandage came off.

Mercy ER sent me to Greg Halko. Halko did not examine my injury and never told me he was going to amputate. I didn't know what he had done until my bandage was removed. He didn't talk to me after my surgery to give me a heads up - which would have been easy since I was awake during the surgery. He didn't call me the next day to find out how I was doing nor did he return my calls so I could find out what happened. When I asked him why he didn't discuss amputation with me he shamed me and said I should have read the paperwork I signed. Amputation was not mentioned in the paperwork. In my surgery report he wrote there were no complications. My injury was not the most traumatic part of my experience. My medical care and betrayal from a doctor I trusted was the most traumatic part. My friends and I tell everyone to stay away from Orthopedic Associates.

Mercy sent us to see Greg Halko. He performed an unnecessary, non-emergency amputation on my daughter and didn't discuss it with us first. We found out a week later when her bandage was changed. After getting her medical records we found out he planned it before he her and met her and he didn't examine her injury during the consultation. We have filed a civil suit. My daughter will never get her finger back but we will do what we can to make sure this man can't falsify medical records, lie to patients, or hurt anyone else.
