Dr. Gustine Ong Liu-Young, MD

Thank you to the ER yesterday. The initial assessment was done by the nurse practitioner who took this very seriously and we were quickly moved along. Dr. Kyrellos was an absolute gem. He listened very carefully to all the details I gave him regarding my mother’s health in the last 6 weeks. He was not dismissive in any way, which is really what has happened, leading to her not even being able to stand yesterday morning. He aspirated her knee and she was septic. Amanda was a great nurse, she was attentive and caring and I also witnessed her being the same way with the patient next door, really advocating for her. I’m sorry that I don’t remember the female paramedic who came out to the car to help me get her in the hospital but she was amazing as well and even ended up putting my mom’s IV in. My mother was going to be transferred to another facility who initially accepted her but then changed their mind stating her issue was chronic and she could follow up outpatient. This issue was… definitely new onset. The Dr here was concerned about this decision so he reached out to Dr Khan her PCP who asked him to call Dr. Liu Young. She said absolutely not, she must have treatment now!!! Thanks to her and Dr. Kyrellos, my mom is now in Tampa with a specialist who is already putting a plan together. I love Dr. Liu Young, she saved my dad’s life in 2020, my mom’s last year and has gone to bat for my mom once again.

So rare to find a doctor who really seems to care! After some of the others I've experienced in Florida, she is very unexpected!

I was admitted at the hospital for over a week and different specialists were seeing me but couldn’t figure out why I was that sick. I overheard the nurses talking that they should consult this physician. God luckily answered my prayers, she asked me a lot of questions and figured out in 5 mins what was wrong with me. She is one of a kind, every doctor soeaks highly of her too!

This doctor is brilliant. Dr. Young diagnosed and successfully treated a very serious infection. She is caring, thorough and follows up to be certain everything is taken care of. I highly recommend her. We are fortunate indeed to have a physician of this caliber in Citrus County.

Never meeting this Dr in person, only contact was on the phone. She recommended sending my parent to hospice for the life remaining rather than having surgery. Gave her a week to live. We approved the surgery, my parent lives. Sorry Dr, glad we didn't listen to you
