Dr. Hazem Ahmed Elariny, MD

I received a bariatric revision surgery from Dr. Elariny 5 years ago. He was able to discuss all my options with me and as he is an advanced bariatric surgeon, knows all the different procedures beyond the sleeve and gastric bypass. It is very rare to find a doctor with so much experience and knowledge who truly cares about his patients. He is still very quick to respond to any questions I may have even 5 years later. He is a fantastic surgeon, and we are so lucky to have him here in the DC area!

Another WLS doctor recommended that I see Dr. E bc of his expertise in WLS revisions. I was very pleased with the results.

My opponent was at 7:45 pm, I arrived at 7:30waited till 8:30 and there is another person infront of me. When doctor not respect your time that’s mean he will Not respect anything else.

Operated on my wife and corrected what another surgeon totally screwed up, Dr. patients did a fantastic job correcting previous operation that was a total mess and saved her life, My family highly recommends Dr. .patients for any general surgery. As a doctor his bedside manners are excellent and spends time with his patients.

Dr. Elariny has gone inside me six times with first literally saving my life. No other doctor makes Patient Rounds late at night to visit their patient in a hospital. His knowledge and care gives him a bedside manner I have never found matched. His lack of ego is so refreshing. He really loves helping people. I read the review further down and I honestly do not know who she is talking about. Sounds like there were "personal" issues going on. Dr. Elariny is ALWAYS a professional.

Best surgeon EVER!

RUDE. INCOMPETENT. COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL. The ONLY reason I gave Dr. Elariny one star is because zero is not an option. I recently found out that Iâ??m pregnant. Seeing as I had my Gastric Bypass over three years ago in Mississippi, I had to find another doctor who could see me throughout my pregnancy. I didnâ??t know which vitamins to continue taking since I have now been prescribed prenatal vitamins as well. I am also anemic. So the entire purpose of this visit was to get blood work done and to find out what combination of vitamins I need to take over the next 9 months. My appointment was scheduled for 11:30. I wasnâ??t called back to get my weight and blood pressure checked until 1:30. Only after waiting a total of 2 ½ hours to be seen by the doctor (another 30 minutes was spent waiting in his office) did he grace us with his presence. When scheduling my appointment, I specifically told the man (Curtis) that â??I did not have my surgery done at this clinic, Iâ??m… pregnant, and I need to know what combination of vitamins to take at this point.â?? Long story short, Dr. Elariny comes in and I begin to explain my situation. Not even 1 minute after I begin speaking, his phone has gone off twice. He proceeds to take another patientâ??s call in front of me (which wasnâ??t an emergency) as if I hadnâ??t already been kept waiting long enough. Keep in mind that at this point the conversation he is having with another patient is longer than the one he finally had with me. He gets off of the phone and says he needs to speak with Curtis and will be back shortly. Dr. Elariny comes back and tells me they typically donâ??t see patients if they didnâ??t do their surgery. And that there must have been a misunderstanding on the phone when I made the appointment. At this point Iâ??m seeing red and trying not to snap on this â??doctor.â?? I told Dr. Elariny that â??there is no possible way Curtis could have misunderstood a single thing I told him because everything I just told you is what I told him.â?? As he continues telling me that thereâ??s nothing he can do, Iâ??m getting more and more upset and it was clearly visible. He then gets an attitude and tells me â??alright, Iâ??m trying to communicate with you but you wonâ??t even look me in the eye.â?? And then opens the door and silently invites me out of the office. Never in my life have I dealt with such a rude, unprofessional excuse of a doctor. Save yourself a lot of time, energy, and patience and choose a different office.

Wait time to see this doctor is ridiculous.... always wait over a hour to be seen.

I really like Dr. Elariny after reading about him and going to his seminar and decided to go with him for my WLS I wanted to do have, but he is out of network for the surgery I have to have.:(and from hearding others, he has a very high surgeon's fee. I am so sad, because I want my surgery to be done by Dr. E so much.
