Dr. Herlen Alencar, MD

I agree with all of these comments, other than the positive one. By far the rudest, most negative, condescending and arrogant doctor I have ever been in contact with. In addition, the blood patch he was to perform did not work and other professionals explained his approach was inaccurate and thus why it failed. I too would like to give a negative grade but 1 star is the minimum.

Beware of Dr Alencar! Beyond arrogant and abrasive. He will perform Kyphoplasty before you’re even sedated. Even when told to stop by the nurse as she hasn’t sedated the patient yet and the patient yells for him to stop he will still proceed to hammer into your back until pass out from the pain. He shouldn’t be allowed to practice medicine.

I saw Dr. Alencar for a lumbar puncture. I have had many in the past and they are hideously painful. Dr. Alencar demonstrated his skills by making my experience near painless, furthermore he told pleasant stories and conversation during the procedure to pull my attention away from any discomfort. I would go out of my way to use him again.

If there was a way to give him negative stars I would. Arrogant, rude, ego maniac. Wouldn't let him touch me with a 10 foot pole let alone a scalpel or needle. Stay away!

Overall jerk. Arrogant, rude and condescending. If given any choice at all, go with another physician or wait for another one to become available.

I agree with the previous comments. I tried to think of a single positive experience I had in the presence of Dr. Alencar, but unfortunately I couldn't even come up with one. He is a rude and mean person who will arrogantly speak to you with an air of condescension. I am thoroughly amazed that he is still able to find gainful employment.

Dr. Alencar is one of the worst human beings I've ever dealt with and am surprised that a hospital would actually employee him.
