Dr. Howard Ilivicky, MD

I have been seeing Dr. Ilivicky for 5 years, and I had seen two psychiatrist before him. The first one misdiagnosed me and made my situation worse because of it. My second one was not properly addressing my situation either. Dr. Ilivicky was suggested to me by a friend who has now been seeing him for about 8 years. I live 45 minutes away from his office so at first I didn’t want to go, but after some things my friend told me that Dr. Ilivicky was doing to ensure they were getting proper treatment that my current psychiatrist before him was not doing, I decided to go (my friend and I have the same diagnoses and were taking one same medication). My favorite part about Dr. Ilivicky is that he lets me have more autonomy over my treatment than other psychiatrists have (even the ones I’ve seen in the hospital). If he wants to start me on a new medication he explains the benefits and risks to me and asks me if it’s something I’m willing to try. If I’m not happy or don’t see a result… with what he wants to try then he respects my decision to discontinue it if I have been on it long enough for it to take full effect. If I approach him about a medication I want to try he explains the benefits and risks and talks to me about why I want to start it and takes my decision into consideration before making a medical decision. I never feel like I’m never unheard by him, and he always respects my rights as a patient, while also taking my quality of life into consideration.

He’s a good man and very good at what he does. People forget we’re all different and it takes a skillful person to diagnose something he can’t see. After a couple of tries, he prescribed medication that finally helped. And he is insistent that he is available anytime for me. He’s a five star professional

Very good, but the office doesn't know how to correctly bill insurance.

Dr. Illivicky is attentive and thorough during visits. We drive more than 3 hours to receive his quality services. He listens to the family, listens to the patient, and looks at the current situation as a whole on which to base his recommendations.

Smart man, but very arrogant and has little to no bed side manner, regardless of condition or affect on patient. Does not listen well at all or respect boundaries or show any genuine concern or empathy toward patients specifically. For a lack of better words, drunk on power.

I've been seeing psychiatrist for ten years know on and off. Doctor ilivicky is by fare the best provider I've been under. Every appointment he asks me how I'm doing and if something isn't working he will try a different approach. I've even seen other doctors for periods, yet I'm always welcome back. Unlike most other psychiatrists I've seen, Dr. ilivicky actually takes notes and keeps track of treatments. I've had othe psychiatrists who have forgotten what meds I'm on, and even my name. He is soft spoken, empathetic, and kind. Unfortunately his staff can be less that desirable at the times, but still better than I've seen. Wait times can also drag on, but well worth the wait. He is definitely not a pill pusher, which I love. No matter how many other doctors I've seen, I always go back to him. He's literally the bestI've found so far. I highly recommend him.

I liked him the first time we met. But it did take 4 months to get an appointment, and scheduling followup appointments can be hard. Seemed smart, and a good guy. After a few appointments, I figured out I was wrong. Smart doesn't mean good. Probably good with people that think doctors are always right.

10+ years... he is kind, compassionate and very soft spoken. Not a pill pusher. For me he diagnosed my bi-polar disorder where others did not. He is encouraging when needed. I love him and refer him often.ð???

Prescibed me multiple pills and was incredibly rude to me. Pills caused me major side effects

Dr. Ilivicky a a great doctor! I have been seeing him for years and have referred others to him as well. He stays up-to-date on most recent research out there. His assessments are very thorough, demeanor is sincere and he has a calming presence.
