As far as I am concerned, Dr. Kirkland was an absolute Godsend. This man literally saved my life! After failing a stress-test with my cardiologist, I was told to setup an appointment with the Heart Hospital of Austin for a catheterization in order to further diagnose my issue. After that procedure, it was determined that my heart had a 95% blockage, and that I needed to have emergency open heart surgery for a quadruple bypass. That's where Dr. Kirkland comes into the picture. He introduced himself to me... described, in detail, what I could expect. And, as I was extremely overwhelmed and stressed out (and scared out of my mind) at how fast everything was happening, Dr. Kirkland was able to ease my mind, calm me, and assure me that it would be a routine surgery, for him, and that it was all going to work out just fine. And, so it did. The next day the surgery was performed, and now, one month later, my recovery has been remarkable (just as Dr. Kirkland said it would be). I had my… follow-up visit with him today and he gets 5-stars for the way he treated me in his office. He asked me a few questions, performed a physical exam, then proceeding to answer all of my questions in great detail and with tremendous patience. After which, he told me that if I thought of any additional questions, after leaving the office, not to hesitate to call and he would gladly answer any further concerns. Sure enough, on the drive home, I thought of two more questions that were important to me. That's where his office comes into the picture. I got home, called his office, left a message, and within the hour, one of his nurses called me back and answered my additional questions/concerns to and beyond my satisfaction, and with such kindness and genuine concern. Again, reiterating that if I ever had anymore questions, not to hesitate to call, and they would gladly answer them. So, once again, Dr. Kirkland was a Godsend. He literally saved my life, and he did so with professionalism, love, and kindness. I will NEVER forget this man and what he did for me. He is indeed a very special human being. Thank you, Dr. Kirkland.

No physical exam and rushed through appt. Told I was wasting his time and there was nothing wrong with me. Went home, got on the internet and diagnosed myself with a condition that is treated by his specialty.
