Dr. Isadora Carmel Botwinick, MD

Doctor Botwinick is a compassionate, humble, dedicated surgeon passionate about her field with a positive energy that is infectious wherever she goes. She is fully transparent about the procedures and expectations to keep both the patient and the family fully informed while embarking on a difficult journey. My family had the fortune of crossing paths with Doctor Botwinick twice while she treated my father for two major gall bladder attacks. It was difficult for my family to endure as he was traveling from Bangladesh on vacation when his first attack hit with symptoms mirroring a heart attack, which was downright scary. We thought we would lose him multiple times. Despite the inflammation overseas, my father persevered and took two planes flying across the Atlantic ocrean amid a myriad of distant worlds preparing to have his surgery in New York. Both times during his emergency hospital admissions, he landed under the care and direction of Doctor Botwinick. Though he is dubbed as having… one of the most "well-traveled gallbladders" crossing the Atlantic, he suffered from a very diseased gall bladder for a long time which was highly inflamed. On top of that, he had a unique cardiac profile as a WPW patient and this would be his first major surgery which he was terrified off. We could not be more fortunate that the well-traveled gall bladder ended up with Doctor Botwinick. Her passion and curiousity and tireless energy in her field is evident in interactions with her. She is a joy to be around and I truly believe her positivity is a major factor in helping her patients regain their strength on the road to recovery post surgery.
