My mother had an endarterectomy. He never assured that she had her routine medications which included an anti-anxiety medication after surgery. She had a complete meltdown and an anxiety attack during her second surgery. I requested that her routine medication be provided for he acted like I was twisting his arm off and was very rude and condescending at her second visit he didn’t even understand that her anti-anxiety medication was routine. Too busy and full of himself to really give good care.

My husband presented with a cold foot, was taken to surgery the next day and Dr Kitchen came and spoke with me directly afterward stating he had had massive clotting and required a great amount of venous cleansing. When my husband was taken to surgery the next day to check progress on the venous cleansing, he developed compartmentalization syndrome and required a fasciotomy. Dr Kitchen was devastated and worked hard to allow my husband to keep his leg. He was very good at follow up and is keeping a close eye on my husband's vascular situation even though he is being paid by the VA and will therefore have to wait for compensation. He always has a great bedside manner and is a genuinely caring Dr. I would highly reccommend him as a vascular surgeon.

Dr Kitchen did surgery on my Mother developed bleeding complications at site 3days later. Took 8hrs for someone to look at it. Had 2nd surgery. And died 6 weeks and 2 days after surgery. Hospital stay was in poor follow up care. After 1st couple of days in hospital my Mother's care was directed by 1st and 2nd year residents. She ultimately passed away due to negligence and arrogance of physicians and hospital staff.

Great demeanor and attitude, knolwdgeable. Good explanations. Patient, with us and his peers. Would highly recommend him.
