Dr. James Kenneth Cardi, MD

Dr Cardi has always been very attentive and consistent with his medical advice to me. When necessary, he has referred me to various specialists who, I believe, are tops in their fields. When I have an appointment, it is very seldom I wait more than 10 or 15 minutes to get called in. I have referred several friends to his practice.

Over the past four years, I've been considering going elsewhere. I've been a patient of this practice since about 1999. The office has slowly moved to an unprofessional standard. I called a couple of years ago for an x-ray that I had done at a walk-in (due to not being able to get an appointment for a sick visit until a couple of days later). I was told that Dr. Cardi has no way of reading an x-ray. One time, when I had to see him for a physical, his back was turned to me while I was asking questions. He was writing in my chart. He isn't personable. I had some gastrointestinal issues where I was concerned and called to schedule another appointment and couldn't get in as a sick visit until the following day during a mid-day. It didn't work with my schedule. The staff have their infants and toddlers in the office with them while they work. That never sat well with me. It seems the practice has lost whatever reasons they had for going into medicine. Today, I had an 8:00am… appointment. The staff didn't show up until a few minutes later to open the door. I understand things happen and I dismissed it because anything can happen to anyone. However, I was the first patient this morning and I asked if the physician's assistant was in yet (with whom I had my appointment with). The receptionist told me he wasn't in yet, but would "track him." It made it seem like he was a missing airplane. As I sit in the waiting area, I'm wondering why he needed to be tracked. Didn't he know he has an appointment at 8am, too? Any professional courtesy to contact the office to let your first patient of the day know you're running late? Again, I'm understanding that anything can happen to anyone, and for that, I am more than accommodating; however, it's the principle. If you're in this field then you have a responsibility to be professional to your profession, as well as respectful of time. There's no reason the first appointment of the day has to wait for twenty minutes to be seen. On another note, had I not been in attendance today, I would have received a NO SHOW invoice for 50.00 even though he was running late and infringed on my time. It's unacceptable, and I don't stand for that type of behavior. I told the receptionist that I'm not rescheduling and that I'll look for another primary care physician elsewhere as even to get a sick appointment is a hassle most times and I end up going to a walk-in where I can be seen right away. The hours of this office fluctuates. Other patients may find their practice standards and office etiquette perfectly acceptable, but I don't. I have been finding it questionable. It's not some place I'd like to be anymore.

Dr Cardi seems to change what he says from one visit to another . He says he's gunna do this treatment then next time you see him the treatment changes . Really not sure what's wrong with him don't trust him

Courteous, Explains everything, easy to get appt. friendly staff. Very intelligent doctor.
