Am always stunned by complaints about bedside manner and brusque manner. Have worked in operating rooms for 35 years and know the difference between those who can and those who pretend they can. When your health goes sideways there is no substitute for skill, intelligence, insight and knowledge. Destephens is simply one of those who can. A great puzzle solver and that, in the end, is what the high end of diagnostic art and science is all about. Trust him completely.

If he sometimes seems disinterested or detached during your visit he is simply processing information and piecing the puzzle together. A good guy who spends time with his patients and listens. A first class physician.

EECP has improved the quality of my life. I have seen multiple interventional cardiologists and every one of them said surgery was my only option. I was referred about 5 years ago by a close friend with a history of heart-disease whom Dr. DeStephens has maintained as his patient for 30 years. As a 68 year old male, I'm fortunately in good health and "Doc" has been a good match for me. He hits all the important marks for internal medicine/cardiology. Time is well spent and he is open-minded to wholistic individual approaches. Efficient staff follow-ups. This practice may not suit all, but I like it better than the big "cookie-cutter clinic" that I left.

His diagnostic acuity is remarkable. A very bright and inquisitive physician. Has saved me a world of grief by asking questions that disclose the root of the problem and it's solution. Spent my life medicine, specifically in ORs, and it's a near impossibility for me to have total faith in a doctor but I do in Destephens.
