I agree with this other "1-star" former patient. My 2018 surgery was also referred by a trusted specialist. The way he explained the mesh insertion did not make sense to me, but I felt there were no other options. It was the 2nd-most difficult surgery recovery ever experienced and that's weighing against 2 each shoulder and knee TJRs. My hernia popped out after about 2 years, larger, and obvious obvious only when I laid down and called upon my stomach muscles to help me recline. Today, 8 years, it is not necessary for me to lie down as the hernia sticks out even when I'm relaxed. IT's too bad appliance warranties outlast surgical ones to our bodies. I was never impressed with his bedside manner. or during office visits. And now there's a huge lawsuit for anyone who suffered pain and/or damages as a result of the mesh insertion. I think his real love must be in making overweight people lose the pounds.

I intended to add important detail, but I guess the rules of this site will not allow them to be included in an open, honest review. This doctor's May 2022 hiatal hernia repair has ruined my quality of life. I am left with a damaged esophagus and every symptom (except, thankfully, migraines) of vagus nerve damage. A revision of this mess is apparently too difficult. In my opinion, he was not qualified to perform my surgery using the robot, but I was referred by a doctor I trusted, and Scott assured me he performed many of these procedures.
