Dr. James Toliver Bennett, MD

In our experience Dr. Bennett has been wonderful. He performed a risky surgery and ensured us every step of the way. He even went so far as to give me his personal number for any questions concerns after surgery. My daughter is doing fabulous and I'm extremely grateful for the job he and his team performed. Also, I'd like to add, his nurse, Julie, was amazing as well. Thank you sir for taking care of my girl!

Dr. Bennett treated my daughter from the time she was 12 until she was 23. He did surgery for her severe scoliosis. He was extremely caring with her and even spent time showing her the xrays and explaining to her what they meant. He explained the care that she would need in great detail, making it very easy for us to comply with.He was patient with us, as parents, also, and answered every question we had. Now he has referred her to someone who can provide care for her adult needs. I would highly recommend him, as I am sure many other parents would. Unfortunately, usually only the negatives are pointed out.

Our daughter first became a patient of Dr. Bennett in 2008/2009 and is still being seen by him today. Dr. Bennett is a very compassionate and caring doctor who takes time with us discussing our daughters diagnosis. After performing 2 surgeries on our child and seeing the results, we have nothing but the utmost highest respect for this man. I would highly recommend as a pediatric orthopedic doctor.

We went to his office at 745a with our 6 month old who had RSV. She was seeing dr bennett for a follow up visit for hip dysphasia. He ordered an X-ray at our last visit and told us his preference of hospital for the X-ray to be done. Our insurance would not cover that hospital, so went had the X-ray at another facility. No one told us that we needed films or a disc for him to read, so we just brought the finalized x ray report. Whenever we saw him that morning, he was so rude. He told us that he would not see her today because he didn't have the films to see, which I understand. But he wouldn't even look at her feet which was our main concern.. He is very hard to get an appointment with. I understand that he needed to the films to make a decision... No problem, but someone should have told us before our app. Also he was so rude that we will never see him again no matter how good he is. He could have been nice about it, but I really don't think he even cares because he told us to go to… another dr. He is a pediatric dr and should be more compassionate with the parents of his patients. After reading the reviews above I can see that is probably how he treats all of his patients and their families. We were very disappointed.

Dr. Bennett has been very professional and pleasant with my daughter and my son whom is not his patient. X-Rays before the appointment do help out a great deal and cut back on wait times. I have never had any issues with his office staff being rude and we have been seen as his Lafayette, LA Clinic and his Metairie, LA Clinic. Dr. Bennett provides a through explanation of his findings and his plan of treatment. Unfortunately this mornings findings indicate my daughter may need surgery but I am confident in Dr. Bennett and know all will turn out well.

I would never allow this man to treat my daughter. He is rude and nasty. Just because one is a physician does not give him the right to treat others as subhuman. His office staff acts no better, the front desk staff is down right rude. The first (ONLY and LAST) time I walked into his office the receptionist slapped an order on the counter without even looking at me said " Go next door get this done and come back" When I ask why? what is it for? rolling her eyes she said "xrays" With out ever talking to me, seeing my daughter or reviewing her medical history he order a series of xrays. His decision to order the xrays were based on the info the person making the appointment typed into the computer. When I questioned doing the xrays I was told "You need to let him be the Doctor and you be just the Mom." I am in the medical field and have been told he is a good surgeon by those who have work in the OR with him, but they always followed with but he is crazy. I… figured maybe he is difficult to work with, heck we all have our quirks but after meeting him I think he belongs in a stray jacket and padded room and I am being very kind!!! I still can not believe some of the things that came out of his mouth. I hope he gets the help he needs. Do not take your child to this man.

This Dr sucks! He is the most rude, inconsiderate dr I have ever seen in my life!
