Dr. James Michael Zelch, MD

I’m so glad I found Dr. Zelch. I am new to Michigan and was in need of a good primary doctor to help with a pre-existing condition. Dr. Zelch listened to me, his staff was beyond kind and friendly and made sure I was comfortable. Wait time was very minimum.

I've been a patient for approximately 10 yrs and really love my doctor and his staff. Front desk team are wonderful ??

Worst experience ever. Ran a bunch of unnecessary tests that I didn't ask for just to be able to charge the insurance company more. Filthy office. This guy is the definition of insurance fraud and should not be in business, much less a doctor.

If I could just give his office employees a 0 star I would.. We called them for over a week asking them to fill my life saving medications! And they still have not returned my calls or CVS attempts to contact them. I've had issuses with the LACK of care and just a general respect. They're just not kind or understanding. They will call the day before your appointment to remind you and if you tell them you are not able to go they will still charge 30 dollars for not calling them first.

Well, first off it took me 2 days of calling to get anyone on the phone. When I did get through, I was told i owe a $40.00 no show fee. He then proceeded to tell me it was a follow up appointment, which I did not make. It always took 1+ hours in a waiting room

Twice I was charged a cancellation fee EVEN THOUGH I called ahead of time. This office has a habit of not answering the phone. I called 8 times in one day to three different locations to switch my appt. 48 hours before. The next day the office manager calls to confirm and I said I was actually trying to get ahold of you to switch days. She said sorry and switched days. I go to the appt. and they say I owe the cancellation fee EVEN THOUGH I showed proof I tried calling. They didn't care. The only way to see the doc was to pay. I decide to pay and confront the doc and he refuses to discuss it. I press and say this was the second time and he starts raising his voice saying he will not discuss it. Its his office policy to charge for late cancellations. I again state it was in the allotted time to which he responds he will not discuss it, thats his policy, and I don't like it don't miss my appointments. From reading reviews and talking to a patient in the lobby this to me seems common… practice for them. This is by far the worst treatment I have ever received from a doctor. Not only that the wait time is usually an hour, the EKG machine they used was in poor condition requiring two people to work it, the office was not opened on time one day, rude staff, and poor waiting room conditions.

This place is the worst ever in my 50 years of existence. If you care about your health at all...look elsewhere. He works out of 3 offices, overbooks appointments and cannot keep track off all the patients. Does not read test results...terrible girls at the front desk who play games on the phone....like leaving you on perma-hold until you give up calling. Worst ever. Everything I read so far in these reviews is accurate. BEWARE of this place/doctor

Hours are not posted on office. Hours on Internet are never accurate (always ays 8:AM-6PM). I've met couples who were walking into see the same office and wondered what the deal is.

Next to IMPOSSIBLE to get them to answer the phone at ANY of his 3 locations. Took me 3 days of calling to FINALLY get one of the rude office staff to answer. The reason for my call was to reschedule an appointment THEY CANCELLED 2 days earlier. There's NO option to leave a message when calling. When drawing blood, medical assistant never washed her hands and after she swabbed my arm with alcohol, she used her ungloved finger to locate my vein and drew my blood without a second alcohol swipe. The place seems sketchy.

Very rude front desk girls. We're on their cell phones most of the time. They don't do vaccinations also. I asked where I could get it from and they sent me to the Health Department. If they took the time to actually look at my insurance card they would of know that the health department doesn't take my insurance. I was not informed and went all the way there anyway. Spent about 10 minutes with us, examined the baby and left. Not very personable. He was nice but didn't say much to us. I also got a 560$ bill for a 10 minute visit. When I called they said "maybe it didn't go to the insurance company." Seems like no one there can do their job correctly. Please find a different Doctor, this place will rip you off.
