Dr. Jan Anders Akervall, MD

Worst doctor I have ever seen. He took no time with me at all! I told him I had a tounge infection for over a month that would not clear up after my PCP treated it 2 x. I explained this to him .He looked at me and said brush your tounge and walked out of the room. Even my kids can see the yellow stuff on my mouth. Really????

This physician took very little time with me, the patient. When I asked a question, he blew me off. He only looked into my mouth for about 2 seconds, then used his special scope to look down only 1 of my nasal passages, then told me it was acid re-flux. He then ordered a CT Scan of my neck which I did 2 days after my appointment (someone felt it necessary for a stat CT). He never contacted me with my results! Exposed me to that much radiation only to not let me know the results of a stat order.....unbelievable! I would not let my worst enemy go see this guy, he is a total joke. PS -His exam rooms are covered in framed photos and menial awards that tell you what a great physician he is. Ego!!! Total pinhead. Don't go see this joker.

Dr. Akervall treats my 92yr old mother for mouth cancer. He and his staff are excellent, courteous and thorough.

He is a remarkable physician. He is brilliant, yet unassuming. His care is meticulous, his bedside manners above reproach. His greatest compliment came from nurses in the OR at Beaumont where I recently had surgery. "We wish every physician could be like Dr. Akervall. He's not only an excellent physician, but a pleasure to work with." He truly is a one of a kind. His Medical Assistant, Venita, is also exceptional. Great practice overall!!
