Dr. Jeffrey A Clark, DO

I am a 62 yo female. I have severe knee pain and clearly need total knee replacement. I have had x-rays MRIs. I went in and met with Jeffrey Clark orthopedic surgeon at Floyd County Medical Clinics clinic in Charles City, Iowa.. I met with Dr. Clark on May 14 , 2026 at 11:15 AM at Floyd County Medical Clinics I was told or I should say I was denied any intervention surgically with my knee that I have been hobbling on in excruciating pain for three years. I experienced discrimination and lies. I was told by Dr. Clark that he would not operate on me due to me having being overweight and having too much belly fat, bipolar/depression, telling me that I was immunocompromised when I have no history of that. Using my double mastectomy that I had as an excuse when I’ve had no complications, telling me that he has been studying my chart and said that he cannot operate on me because I have bipolar disorder and I am 63 and I am too old for a knee replacement even though I need one and the MRI… shows it I’m too old. I am 5 foot two and I weigh 170 pounds. Overweight or not overweight people have knee replacements when they’re 300 400 pounds. People have knee replacements when they’re 80. He also had the audacity to tell me that I am a blood clot risk. I have never had a blood clot. I have no family history of blood clots and I’m not even on medicine that causes blood clots. He referred me to physical therapy when I can hardly walk on my knee and to lose lose some weight in my middle. He told me that I needed to strengthen my core and that then he said we do not have the services available since you are such a high risk person we don’t have the services available. Should anything happen to you here? I would recommend that you go to Iowa City- I was treated like I was going in for a job interview or called into a bosses office and terminated that’s how I was treated. I plan on going forward with a discrimination complaint to medical board complaint as I have heard other complaints about this man and I went to my family practice doctor and she said he is awful and she is right at the Floyd County Medical Clinics. She said I will refer you to a normal surgeon who will replace your knee. I advise anybody against going to Dr. Clark. He has a couple horrible reviews and also in his pictures he is big and overweight mind you he was not currently overweight when I saw him last week, but he was big and fat in his pictures when he was younger- and discrimates against me. Do not go see him. I will go see a different surgeon. I do not trust him once I’ve been discriminated against. I would not trust him even with my thumb- He said all you need to do is lose weight and strengthen your core and that’s gonna fix my whole swollen knee that I can’t walk on that needs to be replaced. Just strengthen your core and lose some belly fat and you’ll be fine. fair warning : he is judgmental, critical, and unprofessional and downright discriminatory. and I am going to report him to the medical board for discrimination and unprofessional horrible treatment. There are other bad reviews about him too about after surgery like post surgery that he’s horrible and you can’t get a hold of him or anything so actually instead of being mad I kind of started laughing because it was so odd. But then today, I’m thinking, man I ought to do something about this. So I will report him to the board for discrimination and horrible psychological treatment. Do not go to him fair warning. Also, he evidently dictated this so this it should be all documented in writing, right? I am going to ask for the report and the dictation verbatim because I want to see it and have it as proof.. I also have a thumb injury. It’s called trigger thumb that I think he said he might fix but at this point, I will not go to him for that at all. I will go elsewhere for my thumb to a surgeon that treats a person with respect and dignity.. He did say oh we will give you three injections of hyaluronic acid after

I had an anterior hip replacement on November 10 following a hip fracture. Am very pleased with my repair and quick recovery. His entire staff are kind, professional and knowledgeable. Thank you, Dr Clark!

Dr. Clark is an excellent surgeon and provides care and concern throughout the entire experience. I still am amazed at how quickly I recovered from having both anterior hip replacements. I back to enjoying life and normal activity without the chronic limiting pain.

I have had a very positive experience throughout the anterior approach total hip replacement with Dr. Clark. His staff is very caring and listens to your concerns. The surgery turned out very well and feel like I returned to normal activities in record time. I would highly recommend Dr. Clark and his staff for any orthopedic concerns.

I am one month out from my second anterior total hip replacement by Dr. Clark and his expert team and nine months from the first THA. Life has been a long journey, walking with great pain for several years and often needing a support cane. I’m thrilled to report a complete recovery in both hips and a freedom of movement which has so improved quality of life. Dr. Clark was even able to miraculously lengthen my shorter left leg to match the right one. It’s amazing to walk straight and tall and equally on each leg—no shoe inserts, no cane for balance, and no pain! I’m looking forward to climbing those bleachers and traversing the cross country trails to watch my grandkids in action. I was out of the hospital just a few hours after surgery, walking strongly, going up stairs, and moving freely. Within three weeks I was done with the walker and the cane, and the relatively small incision had healed well. This anterior approach, the precision of the surgeon, and the excellent support team… created a true miracle of movement in my life, and I am deeply grateful. I feel truly blessed and at least ten years younger than my age 74 at this point, loving the quick recovery and freedom from restrictions. If you have hip joint pain, don’t wait! And this team is the best!!

I have had a very positive experience throughout the anterior approach total hip replacement with Dr. Clark. The results are unbelievable and wish I would have done it sooner! I am a believer of the anterior approach. Fast recovery and can do anything I want to do without any pain or issues!

I had total knee replacement in Dec.2022 Dr.Clark and his staff did an excellent job of explaining things before and after surgery. I am 7 weeks out from surgery and my knee is healing as expected.I would highly recommend Dr. Clark!! He also repaired a severely broken wrist for my wife last year with great results!!

I am one year into my knee replacement. My surgery went well and I am very happy with the result. I would recommend Dr. Clark and his staff to anyone looking to have this procedure. They all seemed very thorough and professional from Dr. Clark, his nurses and his office staff. I am back to all my activities; bowling, biking, walking, etc.

Dr Clark impressed me from my 1st appointment. Very detailed in explaining my hip procedure and what my risk were and what I could expect after surgery. Dr Clark came with several very impressive recommendations from family and friends. Dr Clark has an amazing staff that are very friendly and make you feel comfortable the minute you arrive at his office. My surgery went perfectly and my recovery is going exceptionally well. I would highly recommend Dr Jeffery Clark for any orthopedic needs.

This man is UNRESPONSIVE!! After my Father-In-Law has gone through 4 surgeries, one of which to initially repair a ligament, that may be overlooked during the first surgery, my Father-In-Law is still in care and can’t seem to get a proper treatment plan in place. This is malpractice and at this point, unless this resolved immediately. We will be seeking advice from an attorney, he can either do the work or refer him to someone who will do the job!!
