Dr. John Paul Hennessee JR., MD

I experienced two last-minute cancellations of scheduled treatments because the medication had not been delivered. The second cancellation occurred approximately 15 minutes before my scheduled Humana SafeRide pickup. I had arranged transportation and taken time off work, only to have my appointment cancelled at the last minute. I am equally concerned about the lack of communication and physician access. My treatments were administered by an LPN. Despite repeatedly asking to speak with Dr. John Hennessee, I was told he was unavailable. I never personally saw or spoke with him during my treatments, leaving me with serious questions about physician oversight and supervision. Patients seeking psychiatric treatment deserve dependable scheduling, respectful communication, and access to the physician responsible for their care. Being repeatedly inconvenienced during treatment that is important to one’s mental health is unacceptable. Based on my personal experience, I cannot recommend this… clinic.

I love this place. I recently moved here from California and I was in desperate need of a new psychiatric facility. I tried a few other places before I found Hennessee & Associates. As soon as my initial appointment was over I immediately knew I found my new place. I was seeing my old psychiatrist for over 15 years, so it definitely took a few tries to find another place that made me feel comfortable. I’m a career woman with multiple college degrees and they have continued my medications that I’ve been taking for years. I wouldn’t be able to work or function without the help of psychiatric medications. I’m just glad that the search is finally over. I was so stressed that I didn’t even get a new job until I could continue to be stable on my meds. Thank you!!!!

I went to visit this DR because I am dealing with depression and was looking for help. I went through the whole panel of questions answered everything honestly. I admitted to using legal medical marijuana and it was determined to put me on a low dose of wellbutrin and I was told this is a guess and they would try something different if this medication did not work well for me. After a few days I felt like I was slightly irritable in an effort to be dedicated to the treatment I phoned in to ask if this was normal they told me to to discontinue the wellbutrin and the DR recommended I stop smoking cannabis. But with no other method of dealing with my depression I said I would not and she verified my next appointment. I go int my appointment waited for over an hour I was charged $102 and when I went into the session some nurse came in and told me the DR says we can not treat some one that uses medical marijuana blah blah blah... so I ask what specifically it is that makes using anti… depressants and MM she had no idea and said she is just the messenger. So I was refused treatment and still billed to be told to shove off. This is an outrage. I'm certain this is his personal stance and not a real medical opinion. and for that shame on you.

Read the reviews on this place. It’s very unprofessional. They make you appointments with a psychiatrist then say, he isn’t in. I had to see a nurse practitioner for her only to tell me I had to come back next week to see the psychiatrist. They still charged me for a visit just to tell me to schedule an appointment for next week when the psychiatrist was there. When that’s why I was there for that visit not to see a nurse practitioner!!!! Worst place ever.

My husband has bipolar disorder and we have a form on file so that the doctor and his staff can talk to me about my husband's condition. For over a week, I've known that he was possibly entering a manic episode and called asking to talk to someone about how to avert it and have never received a call back. I have called numerous times, once in tears, once begging for someone to call me. I have to assume that this doctor does not care about his patients.
