Dr. Jon Paul Harmer, MD

Call the Texas Medical Board prior to visiting this "physician." There is a very good reason the reviews for this doctor and his practice are at rock-bottom. He is an arrogant ogre with a herd of uneducated trash for staff-members. One employee, Amy Berkner, lies and states she is a nurse, but she barely escaped high school and has no real education beyond that. (She may have a 2-week certificate in medical assisting at an unaccredited diploma mill, but it can't be verified.) Staff, with few exceptions, is absolute poor white trash with bad attitudes. Many former patients wonder if some sort of sexual relationship exists between the physician and the staff, as that is the only explanation as to why such monkeys would be retained.

My wife has no insurance and I am a retired pastor. She had chronic pain that severely limited her lifestyle. It was a financial sacrifice for her to see Dr. Harmer and we told him as much. That said, her treatment was nearly useless. The office was unresponsive, and she was left with pain that brought her to tears daily. All of this was related to Dr. Harmer by letter and over the phone to his office manager, for whom we were quite obviously just a number as well.. He took weeks to respond and in fact had someone do it for him. His message was basically, "Get lost, you are a nuisance. " Never have encountered a more uncaring, arrogant and insensitive medical professional. He seems to be motivated by money alone, and cares little for his patients beyond that. I arrived an hour early due to confusion on my end, but Dr. Harmer's staff did everything they could to work me in early to accommodate my gaff. Fortunately, I was seen about 40-minutes early. The nurses, PA (Tim) and Dr. Harmer were incredibly kind and very concerned about my health. Dr. Harmer spent considerable time with me explaining all the options and I left his office knowing I made the right choice. Highly recommend him and his team!

I have been seeing Dr. Harmer since 2002 and I am so grateful to have found him. He is a true problem solver. My only complaint recently is that it is hard to see him as he is only seeing new patients. I only get to see him for a few minutes before a procedure. I have been through 3 PAs in the last year and it has been frustrating. However, the staff, all of it, is terrific and the office runs very efficiently. I cannot say enough good things about Dr. Harmer.

I have multiple injureies from my spine to my ankles to my shoulder. I thought I was going to be in terrible pain for the rest of my life. Dr. Harmer has helped me tremendously. My back pain is less frequent and my neck and shoulder feel better than I thought they could. I still hurt but it is much more manageble.Thanks Doc

The only complaint I have is the time spent waiting to see him. The cause for the wait time is that he spends the necessary time with the patient. Today I was scheduled for a follow-up visit, but because I had experienced a fall, he ended up spending 30-40 minutes with me.

Great doctor and physician assistant. Really take care of patients without lots of medications.
