Truly awful. I am new to the area so I needed to set up a long term endocrinologist who understands thyroid concerns. This location is following thyroid treatments that are decades old. The American Thyroid Association has published work describing the most up to date treatments for thyroid patients. Patients are coming here and leaving sick and helpless. T4 only was debunked years ago! Train your doctors, retrain your doctors!! Medical advances are happening everyday. You are hurting your patients because you are to lazy to read published work, or big pharma is clouding your judgment. I was literally told " We don't want to see you again. Your thyroid is fine". Even though I was born with congenital hypothyroidism and have basic hypothyroidism markers. Lazy, out of date, uncaring doctors. DO NOT see anyone at this practice. See a naturopath instead. They actually care.

Extremely intelligent, allows ample time for each visit, thorough exams, caring, easy to talk to, direct with advice/instruction. I highly recommend Dr. De Souza!

Not easy to talk to. Shut me off when i asked about issues i found on the internet. I got to the point of not discussing my concerns with him because he didnt display any empathy or try to explain things in laymens terms. Poor lab follow up, one particular blood count was so important he changed my medication because of it then the next visit he forgot to have it tested. I went for 6 months before he even tested the particular hormone i was needing help with.

Put on the blame on patient without trying to figure out what the real problem is...

I was referred to Dr DeSouza, by my primary MD. The appt was made 2 months prior. Friday the office calls to confirm the appt and tells me they need labs drawn for the Monday am appt. I informed them I was working and would get drawn asap. I also questioned how it was known what to draw for prior to the appt. They stated he would want a TSH and T4 and didn't know how long the lab needed to run the test. I was informed should there need to be any other labs Dr would decide at the appt. I had my labs drawn at the Hosp over the weekend and was assured Dr would have the results by Monday 9 am appt time. On my way to the appt Monday am, the office called me wondering what was up as they didn't have lab results in by 8:45am. They were informed they were drawn and I was assured Dr would have them in time. I then went to the office and found it closed. I called their number to find they moved. At the appt the MD asked briefly history and present concerns yet, only focused on lab results. Dr… and staff were notably frustrated that the results weren't in by 9:20. Not bothering to look at the range of values in relation to my symptoms or any other concerns. In fact, he directly dismissed EVERY symptom related to another reason such as age. Also, he denied any need to review lab work from yrs prior which showed the pattern of fluctuations. His responses were arrogant. The message received... Don't waste his time!

This doctor did not treat my problem, wasted a year, bu never looked into the issue I was refereed to him for. Then finally after we did research that proved issue he sent to surgery where the issue was proven true, but then he advised the surgeon incorrectly resulting in me having to have the surgery a second time. He also was insulting in his bedside manner, drive down to Missoula not worth the risk!

Did not offer any treatment options for pituitary tumor. Re-ordered mri and labwork already sent with referral. Does not keep notes from previous appointment starting every visit with "why are you here today?" very frustrating.Treated individual issues (adrenal, testosterone, thyroid, prolactinoma, etc) without trying to treat the cause: pituitary tumor. Instead of numerous meds for each symptom why not tackle the core problem with bromocriptine or cabergoline (learned about these meds from a nurse practictioner)?Had the impression that this doctor only cares about receiving payment. Tread with caution, save your insurance money and try a different doc.

He is direct and to the point which I appreciate, but very friendly and talks to you and takes his time to get know you and listen to you. I would recommend him.

I have been his patient for several years. He diagnosed 2 serious conditions that other physicians completely missed. He demonstrates great knowledge of endocrinology and has always been very pleasant and caring.
