Dr. Joseph Bridger Cox, MD

I went in with severe sciatica as my main complaint from a back that had been ailing me off and on for years. Heavy weightlifting and natural degeneration had caused most of my issues. After reviewing my MRI results, Dr. Cox recommended a minimally invasive microdiscectomy procedure (remove the portion of disk pressing against the sciatic nerve). It took me about 15 minutes to realize I was in the perfect hands. Dr. Cox was confident, clear in his answers and explanation, and honestly took any fear or anxiety I had about surgery and threw them right out the window. After surgery, I had immediate relief from the sciatica, but even more impressively, I was off pain meds within 48 hours... That's the mark of a good surgeon. 2 weeks after surgery I was back to work, 6 weeks after surgery I was walking and stretching regularly, and 6 months later I was 100%, good as new, and in some ways better. Now 2 years removed from surgery, it and choosing Dr. Cox was the best decision I've ever made… for my health and well-being. I work out, I run, I sleep comfortably, and I can't even tell I had surgery other than the tiny incision at the base of my spine. I highly recommend Dr. Cox. He's the guy for sure.

Dr. Cox makes you feel comfortable, took the time to look at and review my medical history, then discussed with me the best options for treatment. His office staff was very helpful with an insurance problem.

Dr. Cox is an extremely competent surgeon who has a great bedside manner. I have referred several people to him. As a nurse, i highly recommend him and will use him in the event I need neurosurgery.

Dr. Cox takes the time to listen to you and actually hear what you have to say. Today was my third visit post op. Things didn't go as planned, not his fault. He actually sat down and listened and made suggestions that made sense. May have to have another surgery in the future and you bet it will be with him.

I was treated in a timely manner by a very courteous & competent staff. Dr. Cox was very nice & put me at ease immediately.

Dr. Cox was polite, gracious, respectful, courteous and attentive to my remarks during our consultation. He was also candid, honest and very considerate. After a complete, thorough exam and review of my tests/records, my progressive disease and subsequent condition will warrant the necessity for major surgery in the future. However, he also felt there were additional options and treatments that would be an appropriate alternative to that surgery at this juncture. He informed me, too, that the reason and symptomatic issues that prompted my visit, could be the result of another, underlying medical condition that should be addressed . I am so grateful and appreciative for this surgeon's morals and ethics! I feel confident that I will be in good hands.

One of the best Doc's I've ever had. He seems to really care about your well being and takes as much time with you as needed. I never felt rushed. GREAT SURGEON!
