The man was all smooth sympathy as we spoke. In listing my medications, Rx and OTC, I of course included my Rx cannabis. He immediately said "We can't treat you here." I told him I'd report him for that and he backed down immediately. But he was from then on rude, dismissive and unwilling to treat me; he had the nerve to *yell*, loud enough that a nurse ran in, at me, a (then) young disabled woman. I wasn't there for pain management; just refills for my inhaler. I have since met others who said he reacted the same way when they were open about medical cannabis. Doctors should want their patients to be honest about substances. I hear he had a kid who died of a cocaine overdose. That may be his "reasoning," but he is unprofessional and unacceptable. Be warned

Provides excellent care

This is the worst doctors office I've ever been to! Dr Ferrar refused to refill a prescription I've been on for 10 years. One the another doctor in the office perscribes for me. This doctor held my prescription hostage, unless I was at his office at 8 am on a Saturday, or I was going to have to live without my meds for over a week until my regular doctor comes back from vacation. These are meds I need to be able to function on a daily basis. This is the quality of "care" at this office! He was annoyed that I called the after hours service, and he had to return my call! This doctor does NOT CARE ABOUT A LONG TERM PATIENT!!! I was told by him that I needed to be nice to him, when I come in. Basically I needed to kiss his a** to get a refill on a long standing perscription. Honestly it creeped me out with his attitude. It made me wonder what else I was going to need to do, to get my pills. And to top it all off he had no real knowledge of what my condition is! Absolutely no clue! If you… want poor care, arrogance, hassles, to be talked down to by a poorly trained doctor, then this is the place. I ended up having to go to the ER that night, all because he refused to refill a simple prescription!

“BEWARE” – If you desire responsible and professional treatment….absolutely any other provide would be a better choice in my opinion! My experience with this provider is truly unbelievable and unimaginable but it did happen....I was berated and screamed at by one of their Doctors in the waiting room (Dr Joseph Ferrara). I was also left for over two hours sitting in a patient service room as a retaliation for disagreeing with physician's assistant Brittany Rider-Gibson. After waiting in the individual patient room for over thirty minutes (standard practice with them) Brittany Rider-Gibson (physician's assistant, not a Dr) measured a bull’s-eye rash on my shoulder then began to explain that I may not have Lyme’s, even though I had a textbook / classic Lyme’s bull's-eye rash that any Dr would have immediately recognized. I had Lyme’s once before, so I was very familiar with the additional symptoms of joint pain and severe fatigue, which I was also experiencing, and the importance of… immediate treatment. I tried to discuss with Brittany that based on my previous experience with Lyme’s, I did not agree, and that I would like antibiotics ASAP. She then became argumentative and then suddenly stilted. She explain office procedure and said she would have to check with a Dr first. After that I waited in the patient room for almost two hours. Throughout my wait I asked several employees how much longer I would have to wait, I even spoke to another PA and asked her to look as my rash. At 5:10 pm I had to leave for an appointment. I notified the staff, then left. I called their office the following morning and asked if I could hear back from Brittany, get treatment or come in to finalize a diagnoses. Several hours later Brittany called and asked me to come to the office. After checking in at the front desk, Dr Joseph Ferrara approached me in their waiting room and became louder and louder saying, “You were not nice yesterday, I want you to leave, never come back and I don’t care what happens to you”. I was so stunned that I did not understand the other comments that he made and when I tried to talk to him he turned his back and walked off. Again…you’re better off going to another provider and if you read the other reviews yelp you will see verification of my opinions and the unprofessional and irrational personality of Dr Joseph Ferrara.

He has been my doctor since he started with this office many years ago. I could not ask for more.JPR

Dr Ferrara has proven to be an excellent professional in caring for our family. He has done superior diagnostic work and is most empathetic in use of his limited time with us.
