Dr. Joseph Allen Hooper, MD

After reading all of these reviews, the negative ones are the most honest. This explains why he is the only one accepting new patients, which is how I ended up with him. It is hard to believe doctors are in it just for the money, but he clearly is. Why is it so difficult to find a doctor who will make my health a priority?

He is arrogant, rude no compassion, no bedside manner, rarely speaks, walks out on patients, no greeting, he acts like he could care less about you. He is not worth your time.

Worst bedside manner ever encountered. Almost like he hates being a doctor and holds all patients in contempt.

My whole family sees Dr. Hooper and he is great! I feel so comfortable with him. He does not make us nervous and we can be ourselves. He always takes the time to tell us what is going on and is very honest with us.

Worse doctor, at first few visits were ok,but then they started not listening to what I felt I needed and what would help me,he would judge you and his staff became judging also,I felt treated very unfair and uncaring and his assistant was very rude on patient portal,he never would return my messages personally even though I asked for him to please call me regarding my issues, I would never recommend this doctor or any cpc clinics ever!

Would not return any calls or address my conccernsi had about meds I was on!!!

Personally I can't stand anyone fluttering all around me. Dr. Hooper does not flutter or hold your hand or tell you anything less than the truth. I much prefer this type of treatment rather than all the pretense. Dr. Hooper has all the time in the world for me if I have questions as does Laice. If you want to be babied and poo poo'd over, Dr. Hooper is NOT your man. If you want the truth in a straightfoward and professional manner then go see Dr. Hooper.

Having just moved here a few months ago, I did not have a PCP. Dr. Hooper had the least 'new patient wait time' so I made an appt. with him. I was a little skeptical after reading reviews about him but personally, I like him a lot. He spent a lot of time just talking to me, complimenting me on my honesty about my health history. He is very dry and not very warm and fuzzy but hey, I got blankets for that! He is not a hand holder and I like that about him. He was quick but thorough. He gave me all the time I needed to ask him questions and I look forward to seeing him again. I'm so glad I found him and I will recommend him to anyone who asks about a PCP. Also, his nurse, Lace, is awesome! Like him, she had all the time in the world for my questions and she is very gentle (I won't tell anyone how I got the bruise, Lace!). I hope Dr. Hooper gives her a BIG Christmas bonus.

I waited in his room for 30 minutes before he walked in. He was rude. He literally glanced at me and gave me a diagnosis, muttering it out of the corner of his mouth. When I asked him to repeat it and explain he gave attitude. He prescribed antibiotics but when i asked for different solutions he told me he wasn't going to "Waste his time" since I had no insurance at the time (I have it now. I was recently divorced and was in the process of getting covered). I will NEVER see him again. Don't waste your time.
